What an Important Week in December

Manchester City at HOME in the Quarter Finals after a great week of results for the Foxes. Back in the top 2 as well. We play Burnley and QPR either side of that League Cup match, tough week, all Christmas parties for the players cancelled maybe ?

Win, lose, win and Xmas starts early

It was 2-2 last time we played Man City at home in the cup, this time there is no reason why we should not beat them, if we get the run of the ball and a favourable referee. In the meantime I feel a little nervous about Watford. We need a rock-solid defensive performance not to let any silly goals in. Hopefully we will be able to play Konch, Wes and Was, Liam.

This run of fixtures could well see us "utilise the squad" against Man City!

Mind you, this may not be as bad as it looks. QPR away looks like the hardest game on our (League) fixture list anyway, so it's arguably less likely to cost us points than if we had an awkward but more winnable fixture - for instance if the Burnley and QPR matches were the other way around. So the way I see it: If we can achieve a home win against Burnley at the start of the week, we can be happy and anything else would be a bonus.

I watched some of the Newcastle-Manchester City match last night (with an ear on how Hull were getting on elsewhere). Pantsilimon looked good in the City goal, solid and he's of good stature. We will have to heap pressure on him to find a way through.

What with the Fulham 4-3 result and now City facing us next, there's distant vibes from 1968 coming back. I'm not too optimistic though.

Must admit was jumping ahead much too far with this post.
Every week's match is important just to keep some momentum going, a draw against Watford would be a good result and with all the lack of clean sheets this season that could be a tall order.
We cannot expect to win every week of course but the steadiness of this season has been a real plus, just a shame my ill health has clouded the joy somewhat.

Greetings and thanks

A draw certainly would be a good result but a win tomorrow would be a fabulous result, not least because it would mean we would be 10 points clear of 7th place - a fantastic position to be in at the beginning of November.

Lets hope the prices are kept realistic,we only took just over 2000 to newcastle and that was only £20 but was the last of 4 aways on the trot and a step too far for many.
As its just before christmas if its overpriced many will give it a miss

Yes, next Mon for STH and 18th Nov for the riff raff which includes me. I suppose there will be the usual c*ck-ups via phone and email, will have to brief the wife on what to do at 0900 on the 18th. Should be a sell-out I would think. Price £20 whch is good in comparison with league prices.
