Robbie Keane - Leicester City

Ambitious Championship side Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing ROI record goal scorer Robbie Keane.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is prepared to pay £3million for Robbie.

I think it will be a good move for Robbie. Leicester are favourites for promotion so chances are he will be back in the Premiership anyway after 1 season.

I would compare this to Robbies move to Celtic. The teams he would be facing would be roughly the same standard.

It would surely benefit the ROI team to have Robbie playing regular Football every week.

Well if he said that , thats good news.
But i'd worry because his wife is one of these so called wags and it would be better for her career to remain in London doing whatever she does!!

He's the one though who earns the big bucks so I'm sure she'll follow the money to wherever it may lead Robbie.

i can picture robbies press conference now,

'I've always been a massive leicester city fan'

'when i was a boy growing up in dublin, after inter milan, spurs, liverpool and celtic it was always my dream to wear the blue of leicester city'

I think Robbie gets a bit of undue stick about that. I can understand why the English/Scottish give him a hard time over it but it isn't usual in Ireland for someone to claim to support an English team and a Scottish team, often with a local side thrown in there for good measure too!

true. I'm guilty of that myself but was robbie a fan of every club in england growing up?

didn't he say last year he always followed west ham because of their history?

he shoots himself in the foot

I thought he only ever really said it about Celtic and Liverpool but I might be wrong. And given the vast amount of money he's made from moving to all his 'boyhood' clubs I'll not waste too much smypathy on him either!

The only sides Robbie Keane has ever been quoted as saying he followed was Liverpool and Celtic.

I really can't understand why he gets so much flak about this. Most Irish people will follow an English side (Man U, Liverpool, Leeds or Arsenal usually ) and also a Scottish side (99% of Football fans from the Republic will follow Celtic as their favourite Scottish side)

"I have always wanted to come and play in MLS so it's the perfect combination for me and a dream come true"

Remind me never to defend Robbie again! I hope, knowing that people love to take the mick about him signing for new clubs, he only said that for the craic!
