Anyone know when Andre Ward is going to get off his sick bed and fight?

Ignore that he is fighting on 16th Nov

He is fighting Edwin Rodriguez next, pretty soon I think.

It just a comeback fight.

Apart from Martinez you have some of the most boring fighters around today in that list.

They have all stunk out arenas and never any danger of any of them being in a fight of the year candidate.

Bradley vs Ruslan was fight of the year candidate you clown.

Personally think Bradley is too high. Pacquiao barely deserves to belong in the top 10 till he avenges Marquez and Bradley.

You really have to appreciate the art, craft and skill.

Too many fans now want to see a knockout, without really appreciating the boxing skills on display

The top 3 on that list are all a joy to watch in the ring. Its excitement of the cerebral kind, like chess.

Slugfests are good entertainment too but on a much more basic level.

I don't really understand why "fight fans" don't enjoy the more tactical clashes out there as well.

Just found this thread so I'm probably too late but....

I actually resent the implication that because I like to see a knockout I'm a base level fan.

The way I see it, and I'm not saying everyone should agree, is boxing is the most simplistic of sports. At its heart it's the art of hit and don't get hit. Simple concept, difficult to master.

The premise for me is to achieve superiority in the ring, prove you're better than the next man and ultimately prove so superior that you're able to command the ring and force the other person to quit (although in reality the referee takes that decision).

It's for this reason I struggle to enjoy the likes of Mayweather and Ward, they have superior skills and are absolutely masters of their craft but they rarely seem prepared to take the next step and stop a man fighting back. To me, that's not the spirit of boxing.

That's why I admire Mayweather and Ward but I don't necessarily enjoy them. Nothing to do with a cerebral approach to the sport, just don't think it's actually in the spirit of the sport.
