Moist question for Liverpool fans

Good afternoon.

I'm an Arsenal fan, but am not here to gloat in glorious sunshine of yesterdays victory (honest guv). Just want an honest take on something. I'm shooting from the hip and come here sans malice, these are just my thoughts and of course a question;

I'm surprised at how well Liverpool are doing this season. First of all I think Rodgers deserves credit for not only getting them playing football again, but also for getting them in a position where they may well be genuine challengers for a 'top-4' spot this season. I'm not sure they'll get it, although they've got an honest chance and they should be in the mix come May.

Now, I need to eat my words with Danny Sturridge. I thought at Chelsea, dearest Daniel was all smoke & mirrors, all fur coat and no knickers. Overly selfish (even for a striker), all about him, erratic, lazy (at times) and a bit of a show-pony. However, I think it's fair to say he's been superb (so far) this season.

Strangely, (in my opinion), I believe that Liverpool look more fluid and keep a better shape with Sturridge playing on his own up top, than throwing Suarez into the mix with him.

Of course Suarez is most certainly a wonderful player and one of the best strikers in world football, so the notion of leaving him out of the 1st-team, is pretty much a non-starter.

Now I have no idea of the validity of these claims, but there's an almost 'matter of fact' stance form a lot of journalist that in spite on Suarez playing for Liverpool after openly trying to negotiate a move to Arsenal in the summer, that the player still very much wants out of Anfield.

Now I'm sure that Liverpool would not sell their jewel in the crown to a Premier League rival (Arsenal or anyone else). However, as reported, there's the prospect of Real Madrid offloading Benzema (to Arsenal, funnily enough) in January and then rockin' up at Anfield with an 'open cheque-book' when the transfer window opens for a month at the turn of the year.

Do you guys think this is a realistic scenario? Could/would the club 'cash-in' on a player who (apparently) has aspirations to play for a club challenging for honours, playing in the Champions League etc and then reverting to the successful Sturridge as a lone-ranger up top and invest in the squad (heavily)?

And, obviously the League is a lot tighter, certainly so far this season, realistically, where do you expect Liverpool to finish up come May. In the 'top-4', challenging for the Prem even, or just falling shy of a Champions League place?
