Just a quick question

Are any of you from Manchester?

Or have anything to do with Manchester?

And don't give me the whole "I've supported them my whole life" or "Atleast we support a good team" rubbish.

Mark-United,

Only for 10 years, eh? Ever since they've started to get success nearly every year.

Paulpowersleftfoot,

Good on you for supporting Man City and not going down the glory supporters route. A true football fan, which can't be said about the plastics on the other side of Manchester.

I'm from London, but both sides of my family were born and still live in Manchester and have been supporting United since the 50's...

So if you were born in Manchester and both sides of your family were both born and live in London, your main team would be Barnet then, no?

It's amazing that no other fans have to justify why they support their club, despite the fact that many do because "I've supported them my whole life" or "Atleast we support a good team&quot" which seems perfectly acceptable when it comes to everybody else, but not United fans?

I do like the fact that this winds up so many fans like Mrs Piggy. If that's something that gets you worked up then I hope thousands of United fans outside of Manchester post on here lol.

TreblePlastic,

First of all, it's not only said to Manchester United fans, the same can count to Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. It's only mainly said to the Manchester United fans because they have the most success, so are the most glory supported team.

Second of all, "lol"? Who do you think you are? A twelve year old chavvy girl?

I am from Manchester and most mancunians support United, although our blue neighbours do their best to persuade the world otherwise and have been quite successful at it, but they know the truth. But saying that most mancunians are red is not the same as saying most reds are mancunians. United estimate their global fanbase at 320 million and with a Greater Manchester population of around 2million it doesnt take a genius to work out that most United fans are not from Manchester, nor indeed from the UK. That said, I am a season ticket holder (despite living in Spain) and the vast majority of match going fans are from the North West, mostly Greater Manchester.

This is not a moan at the few 'proper' Manchester United fans, just the majority who are glory supporters who have nothing to do with the city.
