So obviously everyone is probably feeling very depressed after Saturday's game. I went to the game myself and have to say, it was one of the worst that I have seen in a while: the defence looked disjointed in general with Bartley the only one willing to build from the back, the long ball option to Zigic was taken far to readily as an 'easy escape route' and Burke, despite glimmers of promise, looked tired and unfit.
But where do you think the problem is coming from? It's typical of Blues to go from two prolific victories at home over relatively strong teams in Wednesday and Millwall, to two disappointing defeats at the hands of Bolton and Charlton.
As far as I can tell there are two main problems: those caused by the owners and those caused by Clark. Obviously the owners have damaged the club, and put us in a difficult financial position, we can agree on that. But also, Clark's interchangeable tactics arguably haven't helped the situation, albeit with injuries to Murphy and Lingard and the aforementioned problem with the owners restricting him.
Overall I think we should stay positive, Paladini is strengthening his interest and despite rumours of Warnock et al., this is probably a good thing. Replacing Clark wouldn't solve the problem, so I hope on his part we see more consistent team sheets and more solidity in defence; I'd also like to see Shinnie back in the team as there is real potential there if he can gel with the rest of the squad.
Hopefully this time next week, we'll all be alot more positive!

Personally I blame Clark upstairs has nothing to do with players and manager. They get there wages and we have never missed there payment once the squad has not been weakened except the loss of Curtis Davies in my opinion who under Clark last season seemed to forget how to defend any way.
Chris Hughton had all the problems Clark has had plus more he lost a whole squad of players and had to build a whole new team and get them to gel as well as play in Europe which we did great In and it's very rare a team doesn't qualify with 10 points. Then we also finished 4th in the league and by the time we got to the play offs you could tell the European games and cup games had took it's toll on a small squad.
I personally think last season was a disaster although we did improve after Christmas which is why I had a bit of hope for this season but we started the same way as last year.
We are in the bottom 3 that is nothing to do with Carson Yeung. I'm not going to shout Clark out because that won't happen. While he is manager I won't boo at games or chant Clark out. I didn't agree with his appointment and don't agree with it now.
But I was here before Clark and I will be here after him so don't let it get to me too much!!

Very true Mackem.
It's almost not worth thinking about how we would have done had we kept CH for one more season w/o having to worry about the Europa League.
I still think LC is on a big learning curve as he is relatively young for the position he is in and I think this lack of experience is beginning to take its toll on him and, more importantly, the team.
He may be able to gee them up for bragging rights against his old club but there does not seem to be any sort of consistency in the team whatsoever.

Cheers KillPage and glad to see the high standard of rational commenting, Wolves' might fall works wonders for clearing out the trolls Today pretty much underlined what I was saying though, another change of fortunes, I just hope we can maintain this level, consistency is the key word. Football is a strange game I guess, thought it looked a strong line up will watch highlights and see what I think the difference was to last week.

In our current financial situation, regarding managers, if LC had a great season, he'd be gone the next, just like CH. It's catch 22. I thought last season was good, not great, but we achieved the goal of staying up. In my opinion, we were favourites to go down under CH and LC, when we lost all our players. Both managers did well to keep us up. This season is proving to ne our toughest test yet. It's times like these, that i'm glad I'm a fair weather supporter! ; )

I'd be interested to know if anyone has any stats on teams that have utilized the services of 'loanees' and how they have fared as a team over the long term.
I do wonder whether the loan system only benefits the loaning team rather than the team receiving the loan.
Lingard [as a clear example] may play a large part in our fortunes only to be whisked away/brought back to his club and leaving us with a void we cannot fill.
I'm not overly familiar with the terms of how many for how long, but does anyone else think this might not bode well for us in the long term?

I'm not a fan of loans I'd rather play gray than lingard and develop our own. Sheffield Wednesday loaned two premier league strikers on decent money then beat reading 5-2 and put us in the bottom 3.
The system is not fair and needs to be looked at

Dont forget that we also lost Redmond and our best goal scorer King , so it was always going to be hard for LC to have a settled side , i think our manager is doing a great job ,with bringing young inexperianced players into the team , going back to our europeon adventure , i thought that they were more like friendly games , did anyone get booked in anyone of those games? ,still it was enjoyable while it lasted .kro.

Killpage , remember when Steve Bruce got us promoted to the Premier league ,in 2006 he got on loan S Larson , N Bendtner , and F muamba , and he later sighned ,Larson and Muamba for bargain prices , so it does pay ,mainly if you can get promoted , cant see us getting promoted this season ,can you. .kro.

I remember being a bit sceptical about Lingard and his 1 month loan when I saw he signed, because I didn't even know 1 month deals were an option, but you can't argue that he's paid us back. Like killpage says though, there's no chance of us holding on to players like him, we just have to hope he can boost our form at the present.
