MK Dons 4-1 FC Halifax Town

FA Cup.
1st round.

A visit to league One side MK Dons for the Shaymen this Saturday.
1st round proper for the home side, Halifax done the hard yards coming through preliminary rounds,, like you do when you are in the lower leagues.

MK.
last 6 games in the league,
Won 2
Lost 4 .. Not great, but.

last 4 at HOME =
W W L W that's a lot better,

Taking into account The Shaymen have only won away from home in the cup comps...& it ain't looking too good for the visitors.
That said, It's the 'FA Cup'..& as we all know, there will be shocks & giant killing acts, there always is at some point.
& I have to say. I think this will have to be the case if the Shaymen are to progress

More about the hosts .

Top Scorer, & lets hope this guy has an 'off' day !
Bamford......11
Williams........6 This guy is a defender !
Banton...........3.

That man Williams again ...4
Potter 3.

Flanagan...

MK are sat in 8th place with 22pts from 15 games played.

Halifax need to be at full strength for this game.
& put in a gritty performance to come away with a win & progress to the 2nd round.
Fingers crossed that it's 3 away wins in 3 in cup ties for TOWN
3 rd consecutive away fixture too...Alfreton, Harrogate & now Milton Keynes !

Any predictions for the numbers of travelers ?
157 mile trip straight darn the M1..couldn't be easier !
will last weeks disappointing effort at Alfreton have put any off ? who knows.

padded seats await those who do make the effort, to what most visiting fans consider a very enjoyable facility

I'll guesstimate around 320 Skircoat Enders on the day.
Good luck Shaymen,

AT AT AW.

I expected the score line to be an exact reverse of how it turned out
I'm one of those still not convinced about Robins.
And Re-Novak.
they should never have sold him. He was always a 100% give his all type of player.
many still won't accept or appreciate he was 2nd top scorer behind Rhodes..on 17 goals (when Rhodes got 40 odd) & Rhodes main 'assist' at the time too.

I still question the One man up front formation,
especially at home, against a side in the bottom three..who hadn't won in 6 I believe

Surely the outlook has to be more positive than that ?
I'm looking forward more to going to the game in Sydney next weekend more than I'm 'feeling' for 'Shudderz' at the moment.
A sad reflection of the present state of affairs.

Re-Leeds.
Do you think they will be more consistent as the season progresses now ?
two other results I feel worthy of mention from that League.
The Bournemouth draw at Burnley, I was surprised at that..
& Forest beating Leicester at 'Walkers' 2-0 ..a very good win that.

Based on who you brought in during the summer upfront, you can definitely give a strong argument in favour of keeping Novak. Speaking to a couple of Hudds fans over the summer and the opinion was split, but the club certainly had it's work cut out bringing in attackers, thankfully for you they got one bit right with the permanent signing of Vaughan.

I question playing the one upfront tactic, unless you possess a quality attacking midfielder, who you want to give a free role to and who you can also trust to contribute to the goal tally.

Not a bad two weeks for you football wise with the game next week you are attending and then the week after Huddersfield on TV in a Yorkshire derby against Sheff Weds.

We've now got 13/23 of our points from teams in the bottom 8. We got 3 at home to Bournemouth, who are generally pretty awful away, hence the "surprise" they achieved a draw at the table toppers. Although, in truth it was always going to happen with the return of Eddie Howe.

Our other 7 points achieved in wins away at Ipswich and at home to Brighton, with an impressive draw at Leicester. So in conclusion, I just get the feeling our current position is a bit misleading, and expect the inconsistency to remain for the majority of the season.Still feel it's a midtable squad and that's generally all you can expect. However, I'm happy with the signing of Blackstock, feel he adds competition and hopefully with more game time his quality will show.

I predicted a 1-0 win for Forest today. Logic? Well it's the Championship so a side unbeaten at home and won 8 at home in a row, on the back of a 3-0 win at Watford, against a side winless in 3 including a defeat to Yeovil. Only one outcome a win for the out form side

By the way just seen Charlton's 2nd goal today, and impressive assist from Simon Church. Bet he's one player you are definitely glad you avoided to solve the back up situation to Vaughan

I'll see the goals tomorrow Ken.

And the 'errors'
I'm looking forward to the up coming match report from the Cup tie yesterday,
I'd like to think there might be a 'positive' thrown in by our mate 'FC'..
but suspect that might be asking a bit much of his imagination to pull that one off .

although lets be fair. I don't think any of us thought we would be winners yesterday, more 'hoping' really.

Ready when you are 'FC'

Just had a look at the upcoming fixtures.

Hyde & Aldershot within the week, both at the 'Stockade' Shay.
"Oww Yeah baby !" Six points in the bag

The positive is that bottom of the table Hyde visit "fortress" Shay on Tuesday night. Hopefully the players who played in the FA Cup tie will have learned something from the opposition, and will get the job done in the same professional manner expected. There can be no complacency though against the side that has managed no win this season. They secured a draw recently against Nuneaton, the only time they have avoided defeat in the last 10

No soft excuses either like tiredness, because Hyde were in league action yesterday against Chester.

I'd like to 'feed' off an eye witness match report before I attempt the Hyde match thread for tomorrow night !

Morning Ken

Yeah I suppose ! For those who can get there .
I used to like watching him, when he played for Town under Buxton's guidance. Him & others (Joey Jones was another that immediately springs to mind) seemed to play with far more passion then these present day 'offerings'..

Just seen McCormacks Goals last night ..What a performance
Glad he didn't have those shooting boots on when he played Town

Reasonably priced so should be a fair few in attendance

McCormack scored 4 goals, yet still probably didn't score the goal of the match, the 1st Charlton equaliser wins it for me, excellent volley. The free kick was very impressive though!
