Big plusses for me..I actually thought we played well....Yes both halves.
Lamela: Was it me or was there a conscious effort to get Lamela the ball. Seemed Like AVB had a chat with the team. The players actually looked to get him the ball early. I liked this and it appeared so did Lamela. in a previous article I actually think he will be playing the No.10 role. Eriksen despite everyone's praises needs to be on the left where the game is less physical than the congested midfield.
Capoue: Surprising good on the ball. Better than Sandro in terms of ball carrying and even attempted some incisive passes. I think Capoue could be a better choice against very defensive teams
Vertonghen: How good is this guy....totally imperious when carrying the ball out of defence. Sad to say if we don't qualify for champions league this year Barcelona, Bayern or Madrid will come in for him. I won't begrudge him the move either.

Don't think Real would allow you sell Verthongen to Barca. Surely it would make the feeder club agreement void?

That's just crazy to me. He is a genuine top class cb. Seeing as Spurs are being linked to LBs surely it's only a short term solution as it seems AVB doesn't rate BAE and not sure Rose is a genuine option for a top team.

Played ok....lamela looked a lot beta....gr8 for him to get a goal.....and gr8 run for the pen.

Rose looked good at LB earlier in the season and in my opinion he deserves a run in the team. His absence has really hurt us and I think is a massive factor to our 'subdued' performances.

Two injured Left backs means we are playing 3rd choice left back option which is Verts. Most clubs would have struggled with the same injury list to one position. It's a shame we don't have an U21 LB that we can promote. Naughton is the 4th choice so I guess there's no room for an academy player.

I don't like to say it but it's only a matter of time before one of the top European clubs come in for Vertonghen. He is extremely well suited to Barcelona.

Anyone see that in Fergies book he said United became reluctant to deal with Spurs because Levy was almost impossible to negotiate with
