Would have thought a couple of weeks ago that the Owls were there for the plucking. Two weeks is a long time and Sheffield Wednesday come to us on the back of a morale boosting 5 - 2 win over Reading - Reading for gawds sake!!! - shows how open this league is....
Eustace is suspended - was I the only one about this? Derby will have to rationalise, re-organise and re-group into a different playing style (Where's 2Wellies when you want him?)
If and only IF we make an early break through, they could be there for the taking......however beware Conor Wickham, he scares me, I remember him playing against us for Ipswich as a massive 17 year old - everytime he got the ball I thought he would score....
Traffic on the A52 will be heavy, so I will be leaving before team news is put out...maybe someone could oblige?????
xx

Afternoon all (morning) well, a great result yesterday. I must say I get a warm fuzzy feeling seeing us just 2 points off the play-offs.
What's the feeling with Bucko? many have said his days are numbered under Macca, but he's an honest hardworker who gets the odd goal too....thoughts?

Bucko was sensational yesterday Moj. He utterly dominated Wickham in the air and gave neither him nor Fryatt the slightest sniff. He showed great determination for his goal too. His distribution lately has been excellent too, especially in the Birmingham game where he did a number of wonderful cross-field passes Steven Gerrard would have been proud of.
Like Chris Martin, he is underappreciated by many of us because much of the good work done isn't particularly showy. For a defender it is concentration and willingness to win the ball without conceding a foul in a dangerous area. For a forward it is retaining the ball or if not winning a throw-in or free-kick.
I have to say I thought Bucko would never play again for Derby after his display in the first half against Ipswich. I thought he was Clough's man, and many of us have given our opinion that he is at least one divison above his level. Long may he make us look a bit daft, as he is doing at the moment. The whole defensive unit looked solid as a rock yesterday. Admittedly Wednesday were woeful but they still had a few set plays, long throws and corners etc, with which we dealt very comfortably for a change.

Bucko at the moment is my POTY.
Players like him are once-in-a-generation - totally focused, dedicated to the task in hand etc. He's not the most gifted player but he has a heart as big as a planet.
Worthy of being included alongside the likes of Sethlad, DPFG, Steve Buckley, Rob Hindmarch and Peter Daniel.
My type of player.

Mo I'm not a big fan of bucko. And most on this forum know that. But yesterday that was his best game in a DCFC shirt.man of the match for me yesterday. Also I was impressed with our new signing in the midfield. Better than Eustace. Especially in the second half

I'd rather have Bucko in the team than Keogh at the moment...Whitbread isn't going to find it easy to get nack in the team. The same goes for Smith...

Good morning Kitty. What did I tell you. That we are playing well. Sorry to say you're the worst side I've seen so far this seasonjust to say I've noticed you've got a palmer on your bench that's not the Palmer is it

Evening Wassa - yes we are rubbish, last week was a fluke, but I wasn't going to tell you that before the kick off Well done, you deserved the points.
That's Liam Palmer, bytheway.
