Welbeck shouldn't start

Yes he should start, he is quality and you are wrong.

I haven't said that about him before so I would like to see him given a run until Chich gets back

He was good preseason as well, young players dont get better by not playing.

I don't think his movement is that impressive, or his first touch and finishing, but I do hope I get proved wrong, maybe in another couple of months he'll be pushing Hernandez for a starting spot.

I agree with We_Are_All_Utd (U2259), if he'd have been loaned out to Sunderland he'd have been in the first 11 so I doubt he's been brought back to be a Carling Cup regular and super sub, he'll be starting a lot of games this year.

I've a feeling he will get an opportunity to shine for us this season, and unless he shines, I can see it ending up with him being sold, most likely to someone like Sunderland.
However, I agree with the OP, at this moment in time, the others in the list are ahead of him in the pecking order. I don't wish for him to fail, but I just can't see him making the grade here, although I hope he proves me wrong and goes on to achieve great things with us.

I think Rooney and berba will start. There are rumors about berba leaving. If welbeck start itll indicate those rumors are true

One thing Welbeck has on his side is his versatility.

He can play on the shoulder of the last defenders due to him having pace, he will run the channels due to him being able to play as a winger, he can drop deep and link up etc.

He'll probably get aroud 20 apps this season
