Excrutiatingly painful to watch.....again. Absolutely atrocious. Dross. Is anyone else beginning to wonder why they go to home games? I feel like we have lost today.
There is no escaping this thought in my mind. The quality of the football at home this season is like it was in the Pesch days at its worst (when I wanted him sacked). The only difference is that we can defend better. Don't get me wrong, I am not asking for a change of manager. I just want some entertainment for my money.
Well done to;
- JFWqwerty6 for correctly predicting our first scorer.
- Steve1210 for getting closest to the correct attendance.

We would have lost 4-0 away at Macc aswell Don. We only got through because Hereford had one half decent player.
Trust me on this one. It's hard to describe. It is painful to watch. Game after game after game at home you are bored stupid watching. It is not a on off that you take on the chin. It's the cumulative effect that drags you down.
- Hoofball.
- Pass after pass going astray.
- Shocking ball control.
- Hardly any chances being created.
When the board went up on 90 minutes someone near to me shouted 'Blow up now ref, put us out of our misery'. That sums it up for me.

We are through to the next round and thats about it.I am prepared to let this one go without to many moans because as we say the FA cup throws some strange performances up when teams are playing lower league opposition.I agree it was poor from us with to many players under performing and whats happened to Belly and Billy they are complete crap in my opinion.Lets go to Fleetwood and beat them and who knows we can look forward to a good draw when the big boys enter the competition.

Ok it was not good on the eye, but it got the job done and we move on to the next round. The very fact there is room for improvement and we beat ourselves up with dreadful tactics is a positive, crazy it may seem , because we are sitting at the top end of the table and into the next round of the FA cup.
Just imagine what this team could do if they did get things right and started to click as a team.
What does give me faith is I have seen flashes of this at some away games.
On the subject of tactics, a little Hoof football is ok mixed with playing the ball on the ground , but when we don't have Zola up front any more why are we still doing it so much?
Kee needs the ball passed to his feet to do anything. For him to compete against tall defenders get the ball to his feet and take a shot is just asking to much.
Our defense is good , but the sloppy passes in mid field are giving teams easy chances they should not be getting.
If we sort out some of these problems , the Brewers could be promotion contenders.

It is with genuine great pleasure that I can report that I have made an error with the scoring.
Keeping track of scores, scorers and attendances for games is a challenge for 20 odd people. I am really pleased that Captain Utd has spotted my foul up. My apologies to you sir.
Please feel free to give me a nudge if I ever make a mistake with your scores. Captain Utd climbed 8 places there.
In the predictor table for the league I spotted that I have done myself out of 20 points. I am now top.
Here is the revised cup table;
1) JFWqwerty6 - 10
2) Captain Utd - 9
3) Earwig - 9
4) Brewers County - 9

You can't beat a bit of football debate.
Mr Emnez - so true about Belly and Billy. They were both shocking. In the defence of Billy no-one plays to his strengths which is what JFWqwerty6 said.
There must be a limit to the number of home games when we can raise this subject of the high ball being played to Billy and McGurk. They are both 5ft 9. Surely the penny will drop soon with the management team and the other 9 players on the pitch.
JFWqwerty6 - Yes, it's the sloppiness and the unfulfilled potential that drives me mad. I detest that moment when we have the ball looking at the two banks of 4 standing in front of us and you just know that we haven't got the foggiest idea what to do.
There are a few of our players who seem petrified to have the ball at their feet. McCrory, Edwards and Sharps in particular. It is 'hot potato syndrome'. Got to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
You might say 'Otep, they are league 2 defenders and we ain't Barcelona'. I would say fair enough but they are the prime source of the big hoofball over the heads of the midfielders. Just play it short to a midfielder. Zander can do it. He takes time on the ball. He can play it on the floor to a striker. That is why it is criminal that he doesn't start.

Agree at times it was like watching a Pesch team play.
Gladly as some have said at least we can defend,
Surely Rowett can see that hoof ball doesn't work when the defenders are 6ft 5 plus and our 2 attackers rant that combined.
This has got yo be Billy Kees worst game in a Brewers shirt.
He was woeful.for me it's time to give Symes another go as to me he's never let us down and he's also the only one who looks capable of playing on his own up front.I know we are not a Spurs but we seem yo gave developed a problem being attributed to them.Very slow lazy build ups with little idea at times what to do with the ball.Too many balls go backwards and them that go forward are usually aimless.
Ben Robinson said he wanted the burton public to turn out and support the brewers.
A few more than usual turned out for the Morecombe game and look what happened there.
People want entertaining and sadly probably 1600 home fans tells you we are not being.
Also for saying Ben is a shrewd buisness man he scored a own goal with the kick off time.
Why not a 1 pm kick off when a big game on TV at 4pm.
Not sure he will ever learn that especially as we must still be about the only football league club that doesn't actually advertise games outside the ground so people passing can see who and when we play next.

Some of these comments make interesting reading, I agree totally that the distribution tactics are very poor; telling a goalkeeper to keep hoofing the ball up to Billy & Adam is a sign of desperation or lack of ideas.
With ball players in our team like McCrory, Hussey, Palmer, McGurk, Kee & Weir this make little sense to me.
I remember Roy Keane having a fall out with Jack Charlton as his tactic was pump it high to Coyne then have the team to press up eliminating space for the opposition. But at the time ROI had the likes of Keane, Haughton, Staunton, Townsend & Sheridan but their passing strengths were rarely used.
Sorry Pez but I can't have Symes as the answer he is at best woeful, I'd rather we start with Diamond up front.
Does anyone have a clue where are Howe & Reed? Not that I'd instate them back in the team but must be still having a drain on our financial resources, time to cut them loose in January if they aren't team players.
