There have been occasions when the premier league champions have won with point totals in the 70s (Man U treble winning team finished on 79).
And with this in mind, which teams are capable of achieving a high 70s points total?
I personally think 82 will be enough to lift the title this year but if it is as low as the mid to late 70s, all the top six (everybody knows who they are) are capable of achieving it. So where as it would normally be ridiculous for example to say Spurs could win it, they are very capable of finishing in the 70s.
Now let's smash the bitters.
How many points will win the League?

one more than the team in second
goal difference won't come into play this year

How many points do you think we will get GB

Based on current averages Arsenal would get 82 pts (average PPG from top half games vs average PPG from bottom half games).
I can't see the title winners getting much more than 80 based on that.
Man Utd got 89 last season but were 7 pts better off at the same stage.
Whoever gets above 80 will probably win the title.

United are now in 5th place on 20 points. Hull are in 12th place on 14 - only 2 wins behind them!
My point being so many of the lower and mid-table teams are taking points off the 'top' teams that I think it's going to be one of the lower winning point score years.
80 or just above should do it
