Trouble at Mill part 2

https://audioboo.fm/boos/1720476-doncaster-rovers-director-terry-bramall-responds-to-john-ryan-exit

We are now starting to get the other sides point of view.

Bramall, the Stig, as he appears to be, has made this statement which I think is interesting and made with great respect.

As far as I am concerned Bramall, Watson and Gavin will do fine until we know the full facts from both sides.

There is no need to panic.

I think I am more concerned about getting a team out for the next game than who is Chairman.

Exactly Crazy, but, if true, and I cannot confirm that, I don't see how any of those bargaining condition is in Rovers interest. We all need to wait until the deed is done and speculation can stop.

As I have said on many occasions, the people with money will make decisions for good or bad. The run of the mill speccie will no say in the matter.

These days we are not talking a few grand where the chemist down the road buys the club. We are talking multi millions and a different type of owner.

A credible theory Crazy; let's hope that these negotiations will not follow the same course as the ones you refer to. Did they ever conclude? There is a lesson there too. If you focus too much on selling you neglect day-today management.

I think I have said it before when I first read a report I will look at the title and then the name at the bottom before reading the article. In other words when you get tipped off you must look at who it is, his allegiance and any vested interest in his comments.

I just can't go along with the conditions you say Bramall has put on SC, he would be slaughtered if it was true, could that be the objective of this so called leak? I can only think he is making the deal totally unacceptable to Ryan and SC and it is a distortion of the truth. Why would Bramall do that? Bramall must be seen to be negotiating with Ryan and SC or he would leave himself open to be heavily criticised by supporters who are pro the deal.

In a way the suggestion implies that Bramall is lining his own pockets, at this point, I don't accept that point of view at all. I will make some enquires to see if it is true but I doubt if I will even get a reply.

Alex, I don't think any of us really know what is going on, it is just speculation. I also don't think TB would do anything untoward - he doesn't need the money and I think he is genuinely altruistic - if he is seeking reassurances re land development, it may well be to protect the club's interests in the longer term - we don't know. One thing that DRFC definitely does not need is Asset Strippers.
Re the fallout with JR, I think it's a case that the 2 men are just very different people with a different view of what is important. I can imagine JR feeling very frustrated, having been used to calling the shots at DRFC, having invited in Investors and then finding that he is blocked from doing what he thinks is right for the club - but we mustn't forget that without TB and DW, the club would be far less financially stable than it is and we may never have got to the Championship.

Crazy,
Yes you have it right. Both NY and me get bits and pieces of information from people we think are in the know. Our contacts are on different sides of the equation which obviously affects our views. I really have tried to be objective with the information I have which leads me to the views I have expressed.

There is no way I can see Bramall dropping the club in it by selling out. I have heard the comments that he is just lining his pockets and that just does not ring true. My guess is that it should be over in the next ten days with Bramall still there and we lose our Chairman Mr Ryan. I have a feeling the Ryan's press campaign will continue, it is so one sided, I hope people can see though it.

Now we wait and see what happens.

As you say Alex, wait and see.

What do we think will be TB's priorities in the near future? It sounds as though he is de facto Chairman whose strength is in business rather than football, but he does have his CEO who has the technical expertise to run that side.

If we were getting satisfactory results on the pitch, there would be no pressure on that front, but the fact is that we are in some difficulty, possibly not crisis, but certainly a situation which calls for solutions to very obvious problems.

TB then, seems to be alone in holding that particular baby, DW being off sick and JR in self-imposed exile, so they will be letting him get on with it.

However, the sale is a different matter. Perhaps I am wrong, but it is not just a question of what TB wants. He may have DW with him, but any buyer would have to acquire JR’s shares and surely he would not smooth the path of a deal which worked more in TB’s interest than in that of DRFC.

So where does everyone go from here?

Fans Forum tonight - not much notice, but better than nothing - hope someone will get there and ask some penetrating questions, but will there be answers?

Doubtful Donaldo. Looks more like commercial activity from those answering the questions. I doubt Baldwin will give much away.
