SG League Results - Week 9

Fulham vs Swansea City

Park was left furious last week at what he perceived as dropped points against the leagues form team in Southampton whereas Mex comes into today on a run of walk overs. Who would win?

It started off brightly for the visitors, Januzaj releasing Lewandowski, but unfortunately for Mex the Pole screwed wide of the post. Pressure on the Fulham back four was constantly applied, Vidic and Varane got in a muddle, at one point getting out dictionaries to bypass the language barrier. As Vidic was looking up the words "stop him" Lewnadowski burst through again, a cheeky lob had the goalkeeper beaten but it landed on the roof of the net.

The second half kicked off with over confidence apparent in the Swansea ranks. Twice Koke gave possession away but both chances were squandered by Kagawa, who didn't have his shooting boots on. The third time Koke gave it away Fulham took advantage. Dispossessed by Isco, he laid off the ball for Coentrao who bypassed the challenges of Pogba and Benatia before rifling home. The game was over, not even a Lewandowski goal could save Swansea as it was rightfully disallowed for offside.

West Ham vs Cardiff City

Cardiff travelled to West Ham in poor spirits. Rooted to the bottom of the table and with reports of unrest in the dressing room have given the tabloids a field day.

And it didn't start well for them, Aubameyang could have done so much better when Totti sent him clear but nerves got the better of him and he trundled his shot straight at Buffon.

Performance improved though, Negredo laying the ball off to Oscar who struck a fierce effort against the crossbar. West Ham soon regained dominance with a goal however, Zuculini had a pass intercepted and Volland was released by Totti, he didn't make any mistake and he coolly slotted home to give the Hammers the lead.

After the break West Hams dominance continued, a fierce Totti strike forcing a top save from Buffon. It was Volland who made the difference though, Lichsteiner sending him down the line, he nutmegged Jagielka and picked the ball up the other side before curling a beauty into the top corner.
