Cripes!

A lot gone on since our last ramblings. Humiliation in the FA Cup, partial redemption (just!) in the JPT, and now Ranger's gone AWOL!

Colchester on Saturday...will Ranger be in the squad? Will our frail defence hold up? Will we get a point?

Answers please

Cripes indeed, Don!

4-0 in the cup, and deserved. Shocking. Probably the worst result on paper since I've been following the team. Can any of the historians out there recall a worse result?? So inconsistent this season....

But woo-hoo, we're still in the muppet cup. I'd rather we rested our first teamers than committed them to that competition, although I appreciate that there are restrictions on the number of changes.

Ranger? Hard to know the reality of what's gone on, but I guess it's a tough time for the lad. I'd be amazed if he was in the squad for Saturday.

Prediction for Saturday? Well, we're pretty rubbish on the road, so I'll say we'll get stuffed 3-0, and hope to be proven a misguided doomsayer. I think their keeper is injured - that might help...!

I was beginning to worry about both of you. I haven't posted anything because I haven't seen the action. Maccs was bad. In almost 50 years, I have felt worse about a game, but that was when I travelled to watch it. Away to Newport when we went down to Div 4 for the 1st time. Away to Carlisle in the 70's when we lost 2-0 - that was an epic trip! Tooting & Mitcham, there are a lot more. But those are for the guys that actually go to remember.
I actually think that we did right to play the 1st team for the paint pot, mind you, it seems that there were not a lot of options. Even so, we scraped a win.
The Ranger thing is more complicated than ever. If he misses training for whatever reason, he can't be relied on to fit in with the rest of the side, & he can't be relied on to be fit. So what use is he? For me, I'd fire him off now because that is what would have happened to me if I didn't turn up for work. We have a problem with CD. Someone (Cooper) suggested that he might fill in there. Not a lot of good if he doesn't turn up.

It's not looking good for Saturday is it. No Ranger, as expected, a number of injuries too. We'll be down to the bare bones. I think George is pretty much on the money with his prediction.

Their keeper might be injured, but so is ours! I have never been to Layer Road, I think that they used to play on Friday nights. If we get anything out of this one, it will be a bonus. But sometimes it happens. Hope for the best.

Sometimes you get a result when you least expect it. All credit to the players and the management for digging this one out. An unexpected (for me) and very much appreciated 3 points.

Knew we'd win - never doubted it

Leyton Orient next.

Swindon 0 Orient 3.

Great prediction George. Your confidence is truly humbling!

Given that they're clearly working in reverse I hope you've got the O's one right.

Keep it up
