Where does Golovkin Rank

In the modern history of the middleweight division

GGG despite not having beat the man at the weight Sergio Martinez is consider the best middleweight in the world at the moment but where does he rank against other who have held this title.

The title linealage (IMO)

Gennady Golovkin
Sergio Martinez
Kelly Pavlik
Jermain Taylor
Bernard Hopkins
Gerald McClellan
Roy Jones Jr.
Julian Jackson
James Toney
Michael Nunn
Thomas Hearns
Marvin Hagler

In a fantasy fight how does GGG get on with these lot?

Who does he beat and who does he lose to?

I think Bhop, Hearns, MMH and Toney all beat him.

A prime Martinez and Taylor give him a good fight but he breaks them down eventually.

Btw Rodriguez hasn't made weight for the Ward fight fat

Unprofessional, but this is just a comeback fight for Ward not a fight anyone was calling for.

Yeah, it was going to be an easy fight anyway, but now Rodriguez apparently can't come into the fight weighing more than 180.

Are you not a fan of Ward, D4?

And which of those MWs do you think would beat GGG?

Hagler, Toney, RJJ I would definitely favour

Nunn,, Martinez and Hopkins have a decent chance. These could all go to the cards.

Fights against Hearns, McClellan, Pavlik and Jackson would be wars lucky to get past round 6. Think GGG hold up and theirs don't

Of course RJJ as well. I think he's a top 5 ATG

That should be GGG chin holds up.......

RJJ, Toney, Popkin's and Marvellous Marvin would beat him imo. Hearns would also beat him, if he avoided getting tagged. Hearns was a brilliant fighter, one of the ATG's, but didn't have great punch resistance and as we know GGG can punch.

Not sure if he'd beat himself

Problem is we havent seen Golovkin against anywhere near the calibre of these fighters so it is difficult to measure.

Sergio Martinez - Would catch up to Martinez and knock him out
Kelly Pavlik - Overrated fighter. Golovkin wins easy by late stoppage
Jermain Taylor - Taylor's speed and good boxing ability would give him problems but Golovkin takes him out at some stage.
Bernard Hopkins - Hopkins spoils his way to a win.
Gerald McClellan - Golovkin outlasts him in a war
Roy Jones Jr. - Roy Jones takes him to school and wins by easy UD but will have to be very careful that Golovkin doesn't land cleanly.
Julian Jackson - Losing on the scorecards but knocks Jackson out
James Toney - Bad style match up for Golovkin but it depends which Toney turns up. Toney at his best wins a decision clearly.
Michael Nunn - Golovkin stops him late
Thomas Hearns - If Hearns had a granite chin he would be close to invincible. Hearns will be winning but his chins lets him down again.
Marvin Hagler - Hagler outpoints him in a close fight
