A 1-0/2-0 win or a 3-1/4-1 win?
As much as a 4-1 win boosts your clubs GD, you still get the same number of points as a 2-0 win. I think a 2-0 win looks better because defences get slated a lot of the time for not keeping clean sheets and keeping clean sheets really boosts the confidence of a defence and it gives them a much better status for themselves, even if not shown.
I personally think it seems more logical to take a 2-0 win at home over a 4-1. Obviously, it would depend on the outlet of the game as well. If you're losing 0-1, then you're obviously going to want a comfortable advantage of 3-1/4-1 over your opponents come the end of the game, but, I'd sure take a 2-0 win as it gives me a massive lift because their is so much pressure on a teams defence to do well.
Thoughts?
What looks better?

Not all the time. Look at City, all these goals, but still, a dodgy defence makes them vulnerable. If them attackers aren't on form, they won't win ie. Sunderland.

But you said the result is 4-1 regardless.

When did I say this?

Why are you applying a hypothetical question to man city when the question was what do you prefer 4-1 or 2-0

Because your saying goals are better than clean sheets.

4-1 obviously because that improves your GD. Something which only to recently has proved costly for us. Secondly if it is level on points and GD then it goes by goals scored. Therefore surely 4 is better than 2
