2 : The tee-shirts.

I am not sure I can remember a more absurd thing happening in football in recent years. Liverpool’s elevation of a proven racist and biting cheat to the status of political victim (with tee-shirts and everything) was truly out of this world.

3 : Cheating to beat Blue Square Bet Premier side Mansfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup. In the end, Liverpool needed a Suarez special to beat these giants of the game 2-1.

5 : King Kenny.

This is one of the most awkward things in modern football. I don’t think I have met a single supporter who isn’t a Liverpool fan who rates this ‘King’ as a manager (not since the mid-90s anyway). And yet it seems Liverpool supporters genuinely believe he’s a good manager.
