Don't get why they are sacking Borrell - who just happened to coach Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas. Not a bad cv for a football coach! And a number of young players he has worked with are starting to come through now..... Is it that this is the last of Rafa's legacy/backroom staff to be 'got rid of'...... hope there is more to it than the club eliminating anyone who might be more knowledgeable or experienced than our manager...
It's not yet clear whether replacements have already been lined up.
Speculation is that under 18s coach Neil Critchley - formerly 'Crewe Alexander’s impressive academy' may take a step up.
What I want to know is what is the criteria for 'an impressive academy' and what should we be aiming for here?

It's very odd what happening there that's one thing for sure. Borrell doesn't really come across as the treacherous type.
The only thing is that Brendan seems to want more local players to be brought in to the Academy so maybe a change if direction is the order of the day.

If Kenny is brought in, them I'm happy enough but surely Borrell should have stayed in his original job, which he seemed to be doing well?
