Larry's Radio Ratings

Here are my match ratings after listening to yesterdays match on the radio and following the text commentary on Wolves Blog.

Ikeme- 7. Another solid afternoon. One slight misjudgment when he came out for a long ball and almost let Donaldson in, but made up for it with two fine sounding saves late on to preserve the clean sheet, and the point.

Doherty- 7. Sounded a little rusty to begin with, and made one rash lunge which almost opened us up, but grew as the game went on. Made one great interception and run which set up Doyle for a great chance.

Batth- 7. Very assured, rarely troubled in the air, and used the ball pretty well at times.

Stearman- 8. Another very good game, made some vital interceptions, and sounded the most likely defender to offer a threat going forward, with some good carrying. A little hesistant at times under the long ball though.

Ricketts- 6. Thought he really struggled today. Was up against Donaldson, a tricky customer, but Ricketts never really got to grips with him. I can't remember hearing him winning a header against him.

Jacobs- 6. Not a bad debut, but not a sparkling one either. Just OK. Sounds like he prefers to cut inside rather than carry the ball down the line, but sounded a bit ponderous when in good positions.

McDonald- 8- I thought he was superb today. Used the ball really well, rarely wasted a pass, and was generally at the centre of everything we did. Got forward a lot more than I've heard in recent games, which was great to hear.

Edwards- 10. Man Of The Match. Probably his best match in a Wolves shirt, absolutely bossed the midfield and showed why Premier League clubs are showing interest. One first time pass early on was terrific and generally worked hard to win the ball and get it forward.

Sako- 5. Anonymous. Usually a big fan of Sako, but he was really disappointing today, just sounded very sluggish and laboured. Had the beating of McCormack for fun, but just never did it.

Doyle- 8. Another terrific game, just missing a goal. Worked well, won the ball, and once or twice turned his way past two or three defenders with ease.

Griffiths- 6. Frustrating afternoon, as he hit the post, and had several other decent chances which went just wide. Linked play well when needed though.

Subs:

Ismail- 6. Lively cameo. Tried to get things going, sounded a little bit short of match practice though.

Cassidy/Sigurdarson- N/A. Had to check my radio was still tuned in as Siggy's name was never mentioned. Probably will be the last time he plays for us before Stale takes him back to Greenland.

UH don't worry about what JA606 thinks of us - trust me it is the same the whole world over when it comes to football fans and finding the minutiae of their club life more important than the entire world collapsing.

by the way cinci, i am still concerned about our LB position if we get promoted. but i trust KJ will act to replace either ricketts or golbourne if they aren't up to the job which will be the difference from previous managers (crazy dean saunders aside)

sad thing is uncle i actually tried to enter into a reasonable discussion on whether suarez or aguero was the better player and had more twitches than if i had been trying to bait people:

further proof that wolves fans aren't alone in not being able to follow a logical argument. and that whilst some pool fans are decent, intelligent types willing to swap ideas and talk about them in a friendly manner, others are so blind that they think suarez is hard done to by referees and that he has never dived to try to win a penalty??!

makes our discussions on mick seem almost sane

The one thing crazy dean deserves credit for, dismantling our shambolic defence, but then he went and ruined it by dropping Batth?!?!?!?

We should follow the safe world of archery instead

i know what you mean about this thread jumping from place to place HMHW but all you really need to know is that either MM or SS are better or worse than the other one and whichever side of the debate you are on someone else will think yr a clueless féckwit for itwelcome back to JA606

dog save us all, Uncle has gone nuclear on the liverpool thread. i'm guessing my genuine call for some balanced debate and not just abusing people who disagree on the suarez matter might now be a bit pointless after UH has waded in and referred to luis as: "the horrid, spiteful, deceiving, angry, uncontrolled, cheating, violent, arrogant little llama faced shìt"

cinci and UH tag team all in abuse wrestling. oh the humanity

So much i could say but it would likely get me ejected from the forum in todays politically correct lunacy world.
