bonsoir buds
just a logical question that myself as a logical person i feel needs to be asked in a logical way -
as we know lewis is not slow in blowing his own trumpet about his wet weather abilities and indeed his besotted fans like to live in there own little peter pan fairy wonderland about those abilities
however -------------- back on planet earth where the rest of us live the cold hard logical facts tell a very different tale , agreed during the low fuel days of 07 and 08 in his respective mp4/ 22 and 23 machines that were the class of the field in such conditions he performed fairly well in those conditions -
however --------------- five years on after 08 what has he actually achieved in wet conditions when those conditions tend to induce a relatively level playing field ?
------------- not a flucking lot would be the logical answer
button very often had the beating of lewis in such conditions when teamed up together at rons glee factory and it would seem that rosberg is indeed quicker than lewis in such conditions this year
----- so is hamilton really anything special in the wet as his besotted fans would have us believe or has he indeed been found out as nothing exceptional when the playing field is a little more level ?
HAS HAMILTON BEEN FOUND OUT ??

I'm not sure many people view Hamilton as anything special anymore. He's a good driver, but not of the same calibre as those at the very front.
Probably had the 2nd fastest car this season, yet 4th in the table & had Kimi been fit, would likely have slipped another place. Rosberg has also picked up more points than him since the 4th race of the season (first 3 involved 2 Rosberg retirements & some very dodgy team orders).
Can't even blame "bad luck" this year; only one retirement. Personally I'd be asking whether he justifies his massive wage. On this year's performance, he certainly doesn't.

No disrespect to Hamilton, but he reminds me a lot like Wayne Rooney. When Rooney burst onto the scene, he had it all, the skill, the passion, and the work ethic. As his career progressed, he seemed to work less and only showed moments of brilliance.

hobo
good points hobo -
must admit i never looked at it from the view of hamilton justifying his massive wage this year , but it would be hard to deny that once again he has been very average in the car ,
i have always felt that hamilton is flawed in respect of his lack of in car intelligence which has been a trademark of his F1 career from day 1 ,
if lewis does not show any improvement next year you could not blame merc for wondering what they are paying all this money for when nico hulkenberg was available who in all probability is a better driver than hamilton anyway --

lord vik
understand where you are coming from vik , in all fairness i dont believe hamiltons actual driving abilities have diminished ,
however ---------------- i do believe his in car intelligence and tyre management abilities such as they are have not improved since the start of his F1 career in 07 and in the current format he is always going to struggle against the really smart drivers such as vettel and alonso that have more dimensions to there abilities than a one dimensional driver such as hamilton -
----------- as we have seen this season that has very much been in evidence
