Start him over Soldado, least he runs around a bit.

Start him as well as Soldado

neutral(ish) fan here, just curious as to why spurs fans think defoe has never quite commanded a place in the team? as an outsider, i can see he has his faults but he has been a proven goal scorer for years and seems more loyal to spurs than many of the foreign imports who have come and gone. yet despite that he is overlooked frequently even when you are struggling to score?
soldado really doesn't look up to the premier league just yet, adebayor has had plenty of opportunities but always seems to disappoint in the long term whichever club he is at. nobody calling for defoe in a 442 next match?

gbwolf - Naturally having paid £26m for him and his good looking stats in La Liga, Soldado was always going to be the most favoured. You could say Defoe deserves chances but he's never been a great striker as he has too many barren spells. In what chances he has been given he's done sod all too.
Personally I think it makes little difference whether it's Soldado playing or Defoe, as they both offer little outside the box. If we went for a 4-4-2 with say Ade partnering (as he offers something else) I'd probably still stick with Soldado as I feel he'd be a better option than Defoe IN the box.
