AVB odds on to go

The odds on AVB to be the next manager to leave his post in the premier league have been slashed from 16/1 to 10/11 this morning. Clearly, big money is being put on him getting sacked soon.

Thoughts?

Couldn't agree more. Everyone creaming their pants for Laudrup who possibly could be a very good manager in the future but what has he done to warrant being the man to take over Avb if were going to talk about laudrups league cup win which was excellent by the way but we then can talk about AVBs brilliant work at Porto. If we ever were to rid of Avb then I would want a top class manager as his replacement like Klopp as unrealistic as it sounds. But I want to stick with Avb and believe he will turn it around. Like thudd says, if we start putting out poor results against Fulham and Sunderland etc then he really could be in trouble but let's just get behind him.

The reason people (including me) are praising managers like Laudrup is because they have taken on small clubs, with a set of average players, who are punching well above their weight, and are playing technically exciting football on the pitch to go with it.

We, on the other hand, have technically gifted players yet are playing the kind of football, and showing the tactics, of a mid-table side with no investment.

Swansea have only been in the Premiership since 2011, yet you expect a manager with their limited resources to be doing a job similar to AVB at Spurs? This kind of response alone tells me how much AVB is out of his depth. It’s time to stop mollycoddling and making excuses. AVB should never have been rewarded for his failure at Chelsea by giving him the reins at an elite club like Spurs. I can almost understand why Chelsea may have taken a gamble on him because of him being an ex-associate of Mourinho and for a very good record in a foreign league, but once a manager has been proven to be out their depth in the league we play in, they should instead look to build up their reputation from the bottom – not just hand them the job at Spurs.

It’s like watching a driver crash his car after driving on the left hand side for the first time, and then handing him the keys to another Porsche!!

I know I’ve been against him from word go but for good reason. Our club is (or was) above the level of an amateur rookie like AVB, and regardless of how much you are fond of him as a personality or want to be sentimental because he’s young, the fact is he is like a fish out of water in our league. There are too many good teams, difficult teams, technical teams, tough teams, etc in our league that he has no experience with. I’ll never forget after his 1st or 2nd game at Chelsea he made a comment of how over-physical Stoke were. This being Stoke, who at the time were probably the most physical side in the league. Everyone knew this – except from AVB.

I know I’ve been calm about it lately, and I really don’t want to receive an ambush again, but my mind would be at rest for the future of THFC if we got rid asap. Stability is one thing, but leaving team affairs in the hands of someone who isn’t up to the job in hand, is something different entirely.

Sorry (again)…

Laudrup is probably the most over-rated manager in the PL.

if spurs sack avb that would show imo how nuts football has become. we are only a dozen games into the season. the new signings are not and never were going to click overnight

Don

I could also ask what has AVB done that warranted him being the man to take over from Harry, particularly in England?

Most know I was never in favour of AVB and deep down I do expect him to fail but talk of sacking him now is just ludicrous.

How can any club give a manager oner a 100 mill and then sack him after a couple of dodgy results.

I wont be shocked if it happens but it just goes to show that the world of english football is totally mental.

I am truly scared when grandspurs appears for a prolonged period of time.
The Spurs 606 equivalent of Kate Adie turning up in a foreign land to do a news report.
