Mesut Ozil surprised many with his deadline day move to Arsenal for £42.5M from Real Madrid. What sot of impact has he had on Arsenal's season performance so far?
Ozil has been a key part of the Arsenal side so far, with 2 goals and 5 assists in the PL in 9 appearances, for me, not a bad turnover for a player of his quality. But, questions have been asked about his current performances for the Arsenal side. Does it matter much to a Gunner fan considering your team is playing as well as it is?
The signing of Ozil seemed to give the club, on a whole, a real big lift and much more hope of winning something this year. Yet he still seems to be playing lacklustre on the field himself. But does that matter if he is still getting the assists and goals? Of course not. He's had a great impact since joining, even if he doesn't look all that interested and isn't playing at the level we all know he is capable of, but we certainly know this, there is much more of a bright spark from Arsenal with him this season.
However, because of his lacklustre, average performances. Should he be dropped from the starting line up? Maybe give him a little bit of a chance to think that he can't just walk into the side anymore, he has to put the effort in on the field to get in the starting XI. Would that damage his confidence though? But that penalty miss last night was a real stunner, who expected him of all people to miss? I for one didn't. That penalty miss, although it was rather good, shows a player out of confidence, put together with his last 3/4 performances. But would that maybe put the team on a bit of a downer and then would find it hard to pick it up like Arsenal have so far?
Has Ozil's impact and how noticeable he has been since his deadline day move maybe overshadowed the outstanding performances from the likes of Ramsey, Wilshere, Mertesacker, Koscielny etc this season? Ramsey and Wilshere have done everything in that midfield so far this season and have matured so much more, even with Wilshere's smoking scandal, they have both matured so much. Is that down to Ozil though? Could it be him that is a role model and people are looking up to him in the squad maybe? This is why I'm wanting to here a reaction. What is Ozil's impact? How good has it been if at all? But is it a concern that he might be starting to his a purple patch?
Discuss.

I didn't say that Wilshere should start ahead of him though. Why not Wilshere in CM and someone else in AM.

Because you said Ramsey and Flamini deserve their place.

I mentioned nothing on Flamini at all.

You could try watching him, for a start.
Average for him is still better than 90% of the rest of the PL.

Last season...
Giroud and Theo both had a 8-10 games scoring slump, and they did not get benched.
Ramsey was $h.it for a lot of times and did not get benched.
Should Özil, one of the best #10 in the world get benched because of a few bad games?
