Way too complicated

I like Brendan Rodgers. I like most of what he says and does. However, I do think he does over complicate things at times.

He has a decent bunch of players at his disposal. However I don't think they are that good that they can be fluently interchanged from position to position, from formation to formation. We are not Barca or the 70s Dutch team. Are we 442,352,4411??? Who cares??

We are not in Europe and out of the League Cup. He should pretty much know his best team and best formation and that team should be played every week barring obvious injuries. Rafa tinkered cos he was fighting on so many fronts so he had to chop and change. Rodgers has only the league to concentrate on until FA Cup 3rd Round day in January.

Messing about with different pairings all over the pitch doesn't do anyone any favours. Pick a team, stick with it. One game a week leaves plenty of recovery time.

Cissokho, Sakho and Agger are all more likely first choice than Toure, Flanno and Skrtel in my opinion. While Moses, Sterling and Henderson are just as good as Alberto, Aspas and Allen.

So I wouldn't say they were all pretty much first choice.

sorry but the article is nonsense - everyone fit to start of the first XI did start. this wasn't chopping and changing, it was our best XI + injury cover.

Coutinho's a cracking player,but he's a bit of a lightweight.

Basically, my point is aimed at the back four being changed so often.

Johnson at right back is the only guaranteed starter. Left back is a shambles....and the two centre backs can be any 2 from 4. Need some continuity, especially with so few games this season.

but defending wasn't the problem today

the first and 3rd goals were flukes and at the back we were pretty sound (even on set peices.

It was the attack that was so horrendous and both flanks went missing in attack (all 4 of the fullbacks+wingers were horrendous) Suarez had his worst match ever as well.

Centrebacks were fine. If anything Skrtel was probably our MotM.

Seems like we have abandoned the nice passing football we were playing last season

Simon Mignolet (20) attempted more passes than Sterling (14) today

Er....then why did Mignolet pick the ball out of his net 3 times? We saw Skrtel on a hatrick and al they had to do was mark one man. Flanagan is about as brave on the the ball as his sister Helen.

The team was a joke today. But please don't think the defence was OK cos it wasn't.
