bonsoir again peeps
As we know understanding the tyres since the fuel stops ceased a few yrs ago requires in car intelligence, racecraft ,and the need for drivers to adapt and refine there tyre management skills to glean the best from a race weekend ,
it is quite clear vettel and alonso are the current masters of this whilst it is also clear certain other drivers dont have a clue and lack this intelligence and racecraft and basically have struggled since the fuel stop era ended and there " style " has remained one dimensional and hence find themselves struggling alot of the time especially in the race itself -
however ---------- christian horner has provided us with a little insight into vettels intelligence , racecraft and unique skill with the tyres since the fuel stops ended which has clearly been a major factor in his 4 yr domination of the sport and his elevation to all time great status -
http://www.espn.co.uk/redbull/motorsport/story/133945.html
as horner said his skill and intelligence with the tyres is truly phenomenal and for anybody with half a brain is not hard to fathom out why he is now being compared with the very great alain prost --
however ------------------- that is providing said people even saw and understood what prost was all about in the first place
VETTEL THE TYRE MASTER

are we talking about the same webber that had beaten all of his other team mates and came close to the 2010 WDC -
------- what happened did webber just have a talent bypass as soon vettel joined red bull

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying the car plays a bigger part then anything else

Eden Oscar -
Essentially, what MA is trying to say is that Vettel and Alonso are better than Hamilton - thats the whole purpose of the article.
Its very easy to look after your tyres when your car has superior grip. Grip means your tyres dont slip, causing them to overheat and degrade.
Its true to say he has a style suited to his car, and there is no doubting his ability as a driver, but to completely dismantle the rest of the field as, no capable, or not having anywhere near the required skill is wrong.
Jenson Button is widely regarded as the smoothest driver on the grid, so why doesnt he last so long on his tyres.....simple......his car lacks grip, so his tyres slip, causing heat and degradation.
i do not buy that vettel is a class above, he is very good, as good as lewis, or Fernando, but... a class above, sorry, but he hasnt proven that yet

the bottom line is bwfc , if the car is so good why cant webber do it , why in the past 4 yrs has webber very often been beaten by the mclarens , alonso , the lotus"s etc ,
webber is a world class talent and red bull are not in the habit of employing dummies ---- so why cant he do the same if the car is so good ?
-------- if the car is so superior why hasnt webber finished runner up to vettel at least once in the last 4 yrs ?
the bottom line is the red bull has not been consistently the best every single race for the last 4 yrs but vettel has consistently driven at a very high level , made very few errors of any sort and delivered the goods with wins or high points even when the car has not been so good ,
the point of my topic was to highlight vettels intelligence in the car and the intelligence that is required to change and adapt his style to the complexities of the tyre parameters every year
---- a skill that horner believes that vettel is the best on the grid at mastering

3 reasons - 1 -you are over rating webber - he is very good, not world class, same level as button really imo
2 - you are assuming they have the same kit, the same setup, the same style
3 - You assume vettel adapted to the car, and that nobody else could do this (only vettel has driven HIS red bull, are you saying lewis couldnt adapt his style, are you saying fernando couldnt.
Its quite easy to be consistent when you are a good 100 meters away from the nearest car, and have the best designer on the grid, and the best performing pit team on the grid.
U seem to want to dismiss the great work the red bull team do - now there is no denying the red bull team are a class above the rest, they simply are. The driver is just one part of that team, and who i cant deny is very good, but he alone is not a class above his counterparts. He hasn't proven that yet

Vettel/Red Bull must be fairly confident for next season. Only Mercedes are using their race drivers for the Pirelli 2014 rubber test next week.
All teams were invited to the test, but only Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Force India and Toro Rosso accepted the offer.
Mclaren and Force India have since pulled out.
