Back to basics?

Ok, so three defeats in five with three tough games coming up. So we need to get back the winning formula that served us so well before this hiccup, and that means getting the defence sorted and building from the back.

An unsettled back four is never a good thing, and we haven't looked anywhere near as solid at the back since we started changing the players around.

For me, Konch at LB and Wes in the middle are a given. So the question marks are over the other CB position and RB.

For me, the Tank isn't a right back. He's a great defender but his natural position is CB and he's looked far better playing alongside Wes than he has at RB these last few games. And Liam Moore looks a far better RB than the Tank. The only thing with Moore is that he doesn't look as good going forward as RDL does, but defensively, I think he's a better defender.

So for me, we've got to get a settled back four week in week out and my preference would be Moore, Was, Wes, Konchesky.

Letting in 2 or 3 away from home gives the rest of the team a mountain to climb to get any points so we need to get back to basics at the back and the rest of the team can concentrate on getting the ball forward and trying to create rather than worrying about the players behind them.

Agree - that's the back 4 I would start with next game.

Let's hope this is a blip and we get back to winning ways quickly.

I a Leo think it's time for Nugent to be dropped. He's been doing a great job of dropping in to midfield to plug the gap against a 5 but I think Vardy can do that job with Wood as the striker.

Hate losing.

I completely agree with you Fox_14.

Unfortunately I'll say it before others do but NP handed it to Brighton on a plate today with his tactics and team selection.

I hope he isn't losing sight of his best team selection and we lose our way again because of instability in the team week in week out.

Knockaert did great when he came on and until then all 11 players were awful, you can't pick on any player because they were ALL awful!

I thought we were supposed to be physically fit but they worked at least half as hard again as we did and fully deserved their win.

I'd start RDL at right back and I'd find the CB berth next to Wes a tough one to fill, It'd be between Moore and Wasilewsli. I see wasilewski as a bit of a liability at times, of he's caught out of position I think he'll resort to rash/dirty tricks (elbows etc) and he could be the man that leaves us down to ten trying to beat one of pumain promotion rivals. It'd be a gamble I'd take though as his experience and grit will ne something that we'll need if we are to keep Ings and Vokes relatively quiet.

I'd stick knocky on the right, Dyer on the left with drinky and King in the middle. Vardy & Nugent upfront.

We can win this, COYB's!

I do wish those that reckon team selection is wrong would post as soon as team is announced, not after we have lost.
Team selection ever wrong when we win ?

Not so much a blip as a bleep, if you ask me. I will be at the Burnley game, and so am praying against a bleeeeeeeeeeeep.

Am I the only one in whom memories of Q1 2013 are beginning to stir uneasily? There, I've said it.
