England -
Are they on the verge of dominating the game like Australia did? Have they already reached that stage?
Is Cook a genuine legend in the making? Already overtaking Sachin's highest ever score?
India -
Just how overrated have then been?
Will things only get better when the 'legends' retire?
conclusions gentlemen?

who has scored the most runs for India this series?
India will plummet down the rankings when their 'big boys' retire.
they have relied on their heavy run scoring whilst their bowling has been ordinary.
now they will have two areas to address (if you discount the lousy wicketkeeping and the dreadful fielding).

"Are they on the verge of dominating the game like Australia did?"
Yes, if they keep playing like this then this English team can dominate world cricket for years to come!
"Have they already reached that stage?"
Nowhere near yet, but you have to get to the top to stay there so no reason why it cant happen!

I don't think India will 'plummet' becuase they will still be very hard to beat in their home test series. But I do think the better teams will be able to draw on the subcontinent when once they would have lost.
I forsee decline to mid-table obscurity for India, and the big names all mysteriously retiring from test cricket to concentrate on T20, before any more debacles like this destroy their marketability to the adoring Indian public.
England have to do well in the subcontinent this winter, then next summer we have to earn the right to stay #1 when South Africa come calling.
It's a great time to be an England supporter
