Get the players to respect the manager or sack the despised manager?
Also why do some blame Fergie for leaving a poor team? If it was poor how could win the league with so many games to go?
And how come Mourinho's Madrid team, full of stars and Ronaldo, had to rely on a sending off to claw back from defeat?
Some, probably out of spite, have suggested Fergie threw in the towel and resigned because he foresaw the current failure of his "poor" team, like a loser would do,instead of solve noted problems.
Yet it is widely known that Fergie had overstayed at the club, even regretting that he had to remain awaz from family.
Moyes,i am certain, will fare badly at the club, but that is neither due to Fergie or a poor team.
When players do not honor their manager then he must have done some misconduct, which i perceive in Moyes', as in AVB's case, may have been overzealous spirit, to prove oneself, commonly found when self-confidence is lacking in any interaction (trying too hard to impress).
Which is easier?

It doesn't matter if the players don't like the manager so long as they far and respect him, a basic Machiavellian principle that has been proved over and over again for the past 500 years since The Prince was written. It isn't the only way but Moyes can be disposed so long as he has a hold in some other way.
We've seen manager try and be players mates, they players like him but you need to keep that distance, it is better to be feared than loved. Look at Steve Maccleren with England, he tried to be their buddy but no way those players feared him. If you can have your players fear, respect and love you you're on to a winner.

There was no questioning a Fergie decision by anyone.

Exactly.
Yet i dont Moyes is despiced merely for lack of trophies. I think that, realizing he had no trophies to stand on,he tried to do too much to impress the big players around, just like AVB handing the Chelsea players loads of dvds to watch, i mean wt....
Also his dismissal of Fergies staff may actually be the issue of vexation.
