Not a wum lads.
I've watched you a few times this season, you were very good against us and Arsenal today and could have won both. You've taken a point against Spurs, and you've beaten Chelsea and Man Utd. And you're playing lovely football.
I've always believed Moyes was overrated. Given the calibre of football Martinez has you playing, was Moyes actually holding you back with his negative style and tactics. There is no way Moyes would have brought on Delafou at that stage of the game. He would have brought on another defender and tried I close the game down.
Was Moyes holding you back?

United's players will definately be worked hard for their conditioning during their preseason and training, but they'd need it more than ever now as in most games they'd have less possession than the opposition

I'm not sure if that's true.
We've probably been having more possession in games this season. We just aren't doing much with it.

We played two high tempo games in a week and didnt look tired. Normally under Moyes we would fade after 70 mins. (Hit return early)

As Phil said, when you're playing a possession game, you don't tire as easily, as lumping it up the pitch and bombing after it. Also none of the drawing on the 70th minute mark so bringing on a defending, letting the opposition have the ball. It makes a huge difference.

RVP picking up injuries is a worry. Whether this is down to Moyes' training regimes I don't know.
I know he had bad toes which I don't think can be put down to training, though.

Having more of the ball is just psychological....I bet even having more possesion than Arsenal, the player movement ment we matched the average distance ran.

That's true. The intensity at which you play with the ball is also important.
It's why Barca had one of the highest distances ran even though they had like an average of 70% possession as they would work so hard with and without the ball.
We've had a lot of possession in games this season but it's been lethargic possession with a lack of movement meaning we probably don't do that much running overall.

Doubt we would have been that well prepared before.
Barca do graft.

It's not the amount of ground covered it's how it's covered. The more possession a team has the more the players in that team move around at their own pace and thus they set a tempo.
Whereas the opposition players will be more stop start quick sprints etc trying to close down the opposition thus expending more energy but covering similar amounts of ground overall.
There was interesting comment made by one of the football pundits. He said Everton will at times during the game deliberately slow the pace down by playing the ball around at the back to allow the front men to re energise/get their breathe back and then they start pressing forward again.
Which when you look at our games is true and it must be so frustrating for the opposition when we do that

Nah, was just an example that supports your point.
It's mentally tiring to be chasing the ball against a team dominating possession, even if you're not running a great deal more or at all.
Today was also a good example. Before they scored I thought Everton were starting to look a little leggy as Arsenal were seeing more of the ball.
But once they scored you took the initiative, got the equaliser and started enjoying more possession and looked as if you'd find extra energy in your legs.
Was the same against us when you scored as well. Gotta give real credit to Martinez instilling that mentality in the players. It's something we've been so good at.
We had no response against you as you were looking to put the game to bed once you scored. As a United fan it was unforgivable to see that response to going a goal down at home.

I still stick with the psychological aspect of it.....
The distance ran or how its ran is no problem for professional athletes.
We just dont run oit of gas after 70 mins anymore
