Perth test danger

It's hot here in sydney this week but in Perth on Friday it's set to hit 40 degrees and 39 on Saturday.

England must win the toss. Australia must bowl all day in 40 degree heat. Then we may stand a chance

We could bat first and still be steamrollered for under 100 - they just cannot handle pace, let alone on the fastest track in the world.

Then Australia will bat and effortlessly make 550 or more, before bowling us out again for less than 100.

We are that bad.

One aspect of the Perth test I am actually looking forward to with some interest is to see how our captain performs with bat and in the field.

Poor on both counts so far and he's facing arguably the biggest Test an English Ashes captain can face, a rampant Aussie outfit at their favourite venue.

It might be grim but I'm looking forward to seeing how he amongst others responds.

The toss will be vital again, Australia have fortunately won both so far and have ruthlessly exploited it.

England are due a win at Perth, but it will not happen unless Cook, Pietersen, Anderson and Swann rediscover some form.

I think KP is due one success each series. Drop Swann who is taking up a place. Agreed Cook & Anderson need to find their form.

No use for spinner at WACA. If necessary, there is KP.

And Carberry...

They may as well go Bres, Broad, Jimmy, Finn the way Swann has performed this year.

Well we can switch off if we lose the toss:

scorching temps from tomorrow onwards. If Aus bat first I can see our heads go down and then it is a couple of days in the sun.

Wouldn't it be nice though to have the above 4 bowlers primed and ready for one hour at Warner and co after THEY have spent 2 days in the field

Day 1 belonged to Australia.

England has struggled to get rid of Kangaroo tail throughout the series.

Going to be a faster pitch today. I expect lots of loose shots from the top five and the rest to be blown away by Johnson. It should not surprise anybody if England bat twice today - assuming they bowl Australia out by mid afternoon.
