Solutions

So far, most United fans will admit this, it has been an underachieving season. Which is leading to the unhappiness of a few players i.e. RVP. These players come across as a little bit of a snitch as it shows they are only interested in clubs that are winning teams. Which is understandable for very frustrating it must be. But, what are the solutions? Read this source as I did find the information of this a little useful: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25291341

I'm not going to use all of that, but I'll pick out the main points. First of all, Re-shape your defence around Phil Jones. Some of you may think of this as a poor idea and some may not like Jones, but as a CB, I think he is a top player there. Vidic will keep for another couple of seasons and then it's either a new signing or you add Smalling with it. Rafael would be a top RB along with a new LB that would be useful. But ultimately, I think a new defence around Phil Jones would help. Ferdinand esque I value him, if he gets the game time.

The Squad Harmony and Squad Control would be my next point also. With a lot of speculation regarding RVP recently and more talk about a Rooney departure a couple of months back isn't helpful. To know your 2 best players could leave is a disheartening sign. This was mentioned on MOTD but if you can get RVP up top on his own and to stay on the last man/CB's constantly and cause trouble, he'll score goals for at least another 2 seasons I'd say. Rooney seems competent with a position anywhere just in behind RVP or maybe a little wider would be suitable as he scores and creates there which is exactly what you need right now. But, they need to stay fit, even if they don't both stay fit, you do need a Plan B and none of the others seem to on the same level this season, so quality signings are in order.

Relating to the paragraph above, New signings and no panic buys are in order for United to succeed. January is going to be an important month for the club, so you need to use it wisely and sign some players. What I picked out of MOTD also is, quote: "A lack of a defensive midfielder". Although Carrick was missing, surely Fellaini is someone to fill that gap up? That midfield was toothless, no creativity, no outlet, no ball winner etc. Everything you need for a midfield was missing in that game. For me, like I said about Rooney, your going to need someone like him. You need a creative midfielder. Lallana would be a perfect example. £15M I'd price him at, Premier League experience, performing at a good team, rated really highly and is a creative midfielder in the hole and can score goals as well. Someone worth a stab at for sure. That might even allow you to play both of Fellaini and Carrick in there, especially for tricky away ties. But, a good DM is in order. Carrick won't last forever and Fellaini isn't up to the challenge. It does look at little bit out of place that holding/central midfield area. You need a mobile midfielder. An engine is what you need. Someone such as Blaise Matuidi would fit perfectly or Radja Nainggolan would also be an excellent choice. Real hard workers, can provide from deep and will always support and work hard every game and are playing at the top of their game right now. Players like them, your best options.

I do despise of Robbie Savage myself as well as many others might also. But I do feel he brings up some valid points in here which could be really useful to the United team. But obviously, it isn't your choice, it is for Moyes to sort out now.

So in brief.

RVP to play up top, Rooney to play in the hole, Defence built around Jones, you hate Robbie Savage.

In a sense, yes. But, the detail is needed as the point needs to be made.

I would like to see Jones play more often at centre back. He's being asked to do a job in midfield and by and large hasn't done badly. But I still get the impression watching him that it's a centre half in midfield and we don't see the best of him there. I really like him as a centre back and would like to see him get a run of games in what is his preferred position.

Agree there MSS.

He is a versatile player, but he is a defender. Find him a weak link in midfield, isn't the greatest player there. A RB he is better at but by far best at CB. Better than Ferdinand.
