- "It's only the first match of the season"
- "Sunderland should have been down to 10 men"
- "Phil Dowd is a Manchester United fan"
- "We had new players making their debut for us"
- "King Kenny got his tactics spot on again ... err yeah"
- "It's all Rafa's Fault"
On an another positive note , what an incredible performance by Wes Brown! He absolutely had Steven Seagal in his pocket for 90 minutes!!
Same old story for the scousers then ... oh wait , this is still their year , isn't it?

Sunderland are such a well run club. Good chairman who invests and stays out of the way. Bruce makes good signings. Brown was immense

Couldn't believe idiot commentators saying Brown was having a hard time of it; he was great.
Mind you, these were the same commentators who excused a Henderson tackle on the grounds that it was "a typical forward's challenge" and who sadi nothing about Suarez blatant cheating and his refusal to acknowledge the crowd as he left the pitch.
p.s. Just heard Collymore trying to turn the disaster into a good result "The only thing that matters on the opening day is 'don't lose', and Liverpool did that".
Guess you can add another excuse to your list!

well to be fair Collymore is the most drunk of football commentators in this country , isn't he?

Fir me the only real excuse is that 150 million Kenny has splashed wasn't enough !! Poor Kenny, he has a really tough job with such poor funding

Dont underestimate Kenny. Yesterday's Draw is a part of some master plan to conquer the world. How can u forget the mission "lets not qualify for Europe" master minded by him so their players wont get distracted.
