No lover of Celtic but how can uefa do Celtic for their bobby sands banner ,as it was seen to be political , in same week as all uefa games have a banner to honour Mandela

As regards to Sands, it has no place at the football. Ive lost count of the amount of times ive said this. But I do find it hypocritical to slam one display or form of politicising but allowing another My "constant digs at the armed forces" are simply highlighting the hypocrisy of "no politics in football" I had the same feelings towards John Reid, he should never have been near any football club.
As regards "Mr Sands rip" I don't recall saying that but ive no problem if I did. Its a different opinion to your own Nacho, no more no less. But maybe its just the "type" I am

I kinda get what you are saying here mate, I dont strictly agree that the celebration of our armed forces is political but can understand why some say it is

B Sands was a ra member whose offshoots expoded a bomb in Belast last night...............Sands sister backs those who do so.
The ra murdered my mates Dad,beause he was Protestant, and the enemy. He was not in any loyalist group, party or security force.Just like loyalist terror groups did.............neither should be backed in NI or Scotland.
Sands choose to die on hunger strike in order to gain political status for murderers.Should we reward orange or green nutters?Shoud we give what Sands wanted to present day republican bombers,Barry? Why not?
There is a romantic notion of the provies now, with the bombers of last night, now the bad provies..........same as the old ra were great guys, even hough they did awful and cowardly murders.
The AF day cannot be compared to B Sands or ra chants, just as the Irish army or police are not the same the ra.
There may be bad eggs in the army and police, and the likes of Blair n Reid use the army badly, but the AF are decent men and women, often bears and bhoys btw.

I have been an active loyalist, and I know how loyalists, on the whole, tick.
While Sands may have had a bond with a few guys in the maze, across the compound,99% of loyalists an unionists did not shed tears for Sands or the INLA and Ra dead.
It was part of an attempt to gain power, and from the hunger strike, shinners grew as a party, overtaking the sdlp.
Sands worship,a provo activist,is in the same category as Adair,M Stone fan club guff.
These groups shot good men and women in bed,or back of the head.
Should the uv bomers of Dublin be put on a banner,Barry....they were "freedom fighters" too.
