Match Preview
Tottenham take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Sunday in a mouth-watering clash of sides with UEFA Champions League ambitions.Sixth-placed Spurs could go level with the second-placed Reds on 30 points with a win in the match.Andre Villas-Boas' side go into the game on the back of a five-match unbeaten run - including four wins - which has lifted some of the pressure on their under-fire boss after their lacklustre 6-0 rout at Manchester City.In the league, Spurs have followed up a creditable 2-2 home draw with Manchester United with successive 2-1 wins on the road over Fulham and Sunderland, while in the Europa League there have been 2-0 and 4-1 victories over Tromso and latterly Anzhi Makhachkala.Villas-Boas will be particularly pleased with the return of 12 goals from those five games - which followed just two strikes in the previous four matches - and the Spurs boss will be targeting more of the same on Sunday. But it will be tough against a Liverpool side who will be full of confidence after posting 5-1 and 4-1 wins over Norwich and West Ham at home to climb back up to second in the table. The genius of Luis Suarez has been pivotal in both of these successes - with the Uruguayan scoring four goals against the Canaries and then a brace against the Hammers to take his goal-scoring tally up to 15 goals in just ten Premier League appearances this term. But on the road, the Reds have picked up just two points from their last four outings - including a 3-1 defeat at Hull City in their last trip - and boss Brendan Rodgers knows they must get back to winning ways quickly away from home if they want to secure a top-four finish at the season's end.
