I don't mind being drawn against the better sides at all, if/when we are good enough we will beat them, and up until this season at least in Europe we haven't been. By February hopefully we will have sorted out our frailties at the back a little and cured our away illness, the players should be in peak physical fitness after the busy Christmas/New Year period. We should have absolutely no reason to fear Barca and hope we just don't show them too much respect.
I want to see this City side tested, and I want to see it pass these tests, much rather be arguably the tie of the next round than have finished top and end up playing, I dunno, a side we know we can thump half a dozen past at will.
Barca - No fear

Ryanair had a reasonably priced flight but it leaves Sunday. Can't really have that much time off work as I'm having 3 weeks off in January.

TBH all the second placed teams looked pretty easy but travel aside couldn't have really picked much easier opponents. Although they did finish above Benfica so they can't be all that bad.

SAF I think the crunch tie will be Chelsea V Gala. The only reason Gala knocked out Juve was that RM has a good working knowledge of Italian footie. The same can also be said for having a good knowledge of the prem. It will be interesting to see if Jose is still the wiley fox in Europe in this tie esp with Drogba going back.

Obviously anything could happen but I do think Chelsea are much better than Galatasary. They have been a little inconsistent this season but i think they would have to play quite badly to lose to Gala.

I would have thought the same about Juve qualifying out of the group stages as well though

I feel Juve may have been overestimated recently a little bit. They just got through a group with Chelsea playing very poorly (AVBs stint) and Shaktar then beat Celtic in their knockout tie, whilst apparently not being that impressive as the scoreline flattered them.
Maybe people have just overestimated Juve as recent domestic success aside they haven't done much of anything IMO.

Would be great if the tie was in the balance at the Bridge, Drogba dives in the Chelsea box in the final minute, feigns death by electrocution, then gets up and slots home the winning penalty.
