India and South Africa kick things off tomorrow morning with the first test at Johannesburg. India will of course be pretty inexperienced but hopefully the return of Zaheer Khan might make their bowling less shambolic than it already is.
Can only see this test heading in one direction but lets see what happens. Teams:
India: Dhawan, Vijay, Pujara, Sharma, Kohli, Dhoni, Rahane, Ashwin, Zaheer, Sharma & Shami.
SA: Smith, Petersen, Amla, Kallis, de Villiers, Duminy, de Plessis, Philander, Steyn, Morkel & Tahir.
South Africa vs India - 1st Test

SA & Kallis.
Although India lost the series, I'm happy with the performance (with the batsmen at least). People, including myself, had completely written them off before the series had even begun but they showed that they have the mettle and desire to score away from home on difficult pitches. Kohli, Pujara and Rahane were excellent. Than god Rahane performed, now we'll hopefully never see Raina or Yuvraj in the test team.
Shami also bowled well, worked up some pace. Just need another couple of seamers that can assist him. Yadav needs to be properly coached to combine his pace with control.

I want SA to win because it will show. Its fine playing on wickets that bounce shin high.. The likes of pujara with his average of 200000 will be out countless times for less than 10.
Came back with an average higher than what he left with

The likes of pujara, kohli rahane have earned their respect. When a bowler like steyn says he will treasure that wicket of pujara for a long time speaks volumes of what he felt about his batting. You dont need anyone else to say anything more.
As far as our batting is concerned, I rank it among the top batting line up in world cricket, Only SA's is better at this point of time. And this is not just out of the air, these young lot have performed for the past 1 year in all forms of the games.
Only if our bowling improves, we would start converting draws to win

Pujara is actually a really good player, he is defiantly the next Dravid and Kohli is also an amazing player. Both players had great series and its a real shame there were only 2 tests.
Also if India is such an easy place to bat why have England always failed there (apart from the last tour)?
Surely it should be a cakewalk for them considering its so easy to get a high average over there.

Congratulations to South Africa & great farewell to the legend Jacques Kallis. The perfect farewell to the legendary all rounder.
Its pretty hard to believe that he has played 18 years of Test cricket & it all seems to have gone in a flash.
Brilliant all-rounder who will be missed. Players like Kallis are once in a lifetime.
Still would love to see him achieve something in the shorter forms of the game & hope he can achieve his dream of playing in the 2015 World Cup.
As for India - they can take a lot of positives from this series. It was gonna take something special to topple this South African team in their own back-yard & India certainly pushed Saffas all the way.
Im a huge fan of Pujara. Thought all the young bloods did very well. Indian future in Test Cricket looks very promising in the batting department.
However the bowling is a concern. It was always gonna be tough task but they can take a lot from this tour. Shami has improved massively.
It was also refreshing to see this Test series played with great respect & humility.
All in all - Cricket was the ultimate winner.
