At last our players are taking some blame for our current situation. And AVB sanctioned all transfers.

Does this change anyone's thoughts on our current situation.

Players take some blame

does the revelation that he agreed all players change the opinion of anyone that was a avid supporter of his.
It has made a big difference in my thoughts as I believed if they were not his players he was on a loser from the start.
As the days go by I find myself agreeing with the decision to get rid more and more.
Just wish we could for once do it with some ready to come straight in.

Nice to hear but we seem to have too many players that hide on the pitch, defenders that aren't good enough.. back to mid table scrapping for a few years

tbh...the player thing we'll never know......avb will say no.....as an excuse....
the club will say he did have full knowledge....

Well at least when we were scrapping mid table we were happy watching a good game, no high expectations just good entertaining football. and the lane a rocking.

The recent Telegraph article suggested he was very disappointed not to get Moutinho, which it seems we could have done had we not left it to the last minute, and wanted Hulk and David Villa this summer.
It is obviously difficult to ascertain the veracity of those claims, but it would seem that we were unable to capture any of his first choices.
The players we signed in the summer are far from bad players and I can't imagine many coaches would have turned them down given the opportunity, but there is a difference between accepting the choices put to you and actively dictating who is signed.

Sanctioning them is completely different to actually wanting them. Agreeing to someone elses choices is not the same as picking the players. I'm sure Baldini and Levy were more than persuasive to get their players. It wouldn't really look good if he disagreed with all or several of Baldini and Levy's targets would it? This to me just seems like the club trying to save face.

They're not all to blame but definitely haven't helped. AVB's tactics were not responsible for Lamela not being able to beat his man, or Defoe being useless in front of goal for a couple of examples.
