England test ranking fully deserved

England's ranking undeserved? Don't talk wet son. They said we couldn't hold our own against SA on their turf, we did. They said we couldn't beat the Aussies in Australia, we did. They said we couldn't topple India, we did (we didn't really topple them, we destroyed them, we demoralised them, we exposed them). I'm beginning to think 'they' know nothing about true cricket.

They say we cant play on the sub continent? Just watch us!

I've read posts that India would destroy our 'average' bowling attack in the SC and that our batsmen will struggle. It will be different but we have earnt the no.1 spot and we have as much chance as any team in the world! I would bet us to beat India again as their batsmen couldn't stick around in a glue factory as proved in the last 3 tests.

9 test series undefeated says it all! And against all the top teams since Sept 09.

I am so bored of the 'they aren't English' argument. Fact is they are playing for us therefore by definition they are. The only reason you hear people bleating is pure jealousy that they are unable to unearth world class players. I applaud England for acting so brilliantly and effectively within the rules of International cricket and maybe the Australians should do so as well as to be honest their test team is nothing short of pathetic at the moment even though they are full of non 100% Australians (that guy who is actually Pakistani was meant to be the next big hope of Aussie cricket after hitting a world class score of 30+ against us wasn't he?).

Also:
Alistair Cook, James Anderson, Graeme Swann, Ian Bell, Chris Tremlett, Ian Bresnan, Stuart Broad etc - all very much of a higher standard than most teams in the world right now.

Don't worry about them Redlaw. People are generally selfish under achievers who don't have a positive word to say about anybody or anything that has nothing to do with their miserable lives.
You and I can however just enjoy some wonderful cricket being played by our great side. God knows we have waited a long time

KPs mother is English but it apparently doesn't count

Let's look forward to the last test match, and enjoy what is going to be a very quick and destructive white wash. I am guessing this next match won't even get to the fourth day such is the class difference between these 2 sides. It's our time mate. Let's enjoy it

Tim Bresnan sorry, facepalm!

Oh southsydney, let's look at the bowling attack shall we?
Anderson - born in Burnley, Broad - born in Nottingham, Tremlett - born in Southampton, Bresnan - born in Yorkshire, Swann - born in Northamption.

Top three scoring batsmen so far? KP - Born in SA to an English mother, Cook - Born in Gloucester, Bell - born in Warwickshire. Only 4 of the starting 11 were born overseas and either have an English parent or English ancestry anyway.

Copy that post EnglishReign and be prepared to paste it a million times mate.

The rest of the cricketing world are going to have trouble excepting we are going to dominate world cricket for years and will come up with all the excuses under the sun to justify their pathetic existence in the world of cricket.

We however can just enjoy our supreme march from one country, home and away whilst our English players, because as you say that is exactly what they are, take team after team to the cleaners.

Andersen can't bowl in Australia and we can't take 20 wickets there

India are the best team in the world with the best batting line up the world has ever seen and we have no chance, even on our own patch

All those lines are used up, so we go back to the issue of foreign players in our team Some people struggle firstly with a multi cultural society, why bother when we can just shut the doors and let all the other foreigners suffer? and even the fact that if you play for England, then you have earned the right to do so, and some can't even understand how that works

It's our time.

I can't believe you guys responded to rabbitohs. It was a stupid comment for sure, but some of you sure matched him with your responses,

"Andrew Symonds. Born in Birmingham, selective memories these bitter aussie minnows. Maybe we should give the aussies a 3 test series instead of 5?"

"Bitter aussie! ! How's your pakistani number 3 getting on? Keppler Wessels? Pot kettle."

Well let's see, Khawaja and Symonds both have very strong aussie accents because they have been here since they were very young, they probably don't even remember living anywhere but Australia. Kepler Wessels really? If SA had been allowed to play test cricket he would not have played for Aus, and, in fact he went straight over to SA at the end of apartheid. I bet you thought for a long long time about this and you could only come up with three names, two of which were entirely bogus. In 30 secs I can think of Hick, Kieswetter, Trott and Dernbach. That's not even classing the players who come into the same class and Symonds and Khawaja, if you want to have a go at them then you have to question what Pietersen, Strauss, Morgan and Prior are doing in the England team. Fact is that England do have more players who are questionably English than any other nation.

I think you will find most people fully accept that England are the best test team in the world currently.

Duncan I think you have completely missed the point. We know that Trott is not 100% English but we are trying to show that it is a petty and ridiculous excuse by other nations to belittle what has been a startling turn around by the English team. They are English, they are recognised as English, they play for England, end of story.

It is just amusing that jealous people use that as an excuse for our absolute dominance, but as amusing as it is it does get tiring. Also by the petty peoples logic, it doesn't matter if Khawaja (sp?) and Symonds have Aussie accents, they are not fully Australian if you apply it to the rules that jealous people harp on about. However in my eyes they are Aussie as they have been accepted into their team and play for them with pride.

I agree with your other comment though, we are the greatest in the world right now. Though if I were in charge of the ECB I would start trying to organise a trip to SA to truly test our no.1 credentials. We should not fear any team and should be actively seeking out and challenging the other 'great' teams to further cement our new position and silence the petty, jealous, and childish critics.

Ha! Ha! Ha!... Gotta laugh at Duncan.....comes on here having a go at those for taking the bait and then goes on a rant...

In all honesty.... Congratulations England for there efforts over the last couple of years in reaching No.1 test playing nation......as far as I'm concerned test cricket is what it is all about and I particulary love the ashes series regardless of what position either Eng or Aus are sitting, it is good banter and nothing else beats it in my books.....cheers boy's
