Huddersfield, Boxing Day

So… Boxing Day…

a) Who's going
b) Where are we drinking

Alright Rams

Plenty of places to wet your whistle...there's a pub at the opposite end of the ground to where you sit called the Ropewalk. It's built into the cinema complex and home and away fans mix well in there.

There's a gas works club not far from the away end. Might cost you £1 for entry but again, both sets of fans are welcome.

For those who like a real ale, the Head of Steam inside the train station is a nice boozer with plenty of guest ales on all year round.

If you want a wander, the town centre has numerous pubs and bars dotted around. Avoid The Crescent on Northumberland Street unless you weren't planning on taking your teeth back home anyway, but everywhere else should have no problem so long as you behave the right way.

Have a safe journey up and hopefully it will be a game to warm the cockles. Happy Christmas

Cheers, Champers - Merry Christmas to you and your too.

What's car parking like within walking distance (for an old bloke) of the ground?

Parking I'm not too sure of OOE, I've had my own secret "spot" for about 10 years, but even that's a bit of a trek (just allows me to beat a lot of the traffic on my way home!).

I'll link this article on our recent match thread so hopefully one of our other regulars can point you in the right direction

Opposite Staples on Leeds road, opposite that is a long road with free parking, loads of fans park there, 5 min work from the ground.

I Remember that Weatherby - parked about 100 metres from a McDonald's last time there.

Leeds Road then?

behind the council estate.(Town Avenue etc) .there are two free car parking spots in between the houses...get there early as they only hold about 15 cars and you have a short hop over the river into the boozer...If they are full carry on to the end , turn right and there is another free car parking spot on the right, holding about 50 cars on the grass. Look on google maps...you'll see them... might get a slight delay getting out afterwards..
