I don't think that there is much doubt that our squad is a bit of an unbalanced mess despite the fact that we've spent so much in recent times and seemingly keep having to spend just to remain competitive.
30 million on Willian when we desperately needed a striker and a central midfielder. What's that all about?
Ok we've had some successes in the transfer market with the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Mata but even that can be seen as a failing in some ways in that all three essentially play in the same position so accomodating all three is very difficult.
So the question is who is to blame ? Who is in charge of transfer dealings at Chelsea? As far as I can tell (and it's quite unclear) Michael Emenalo is the person who can be identified as being the most in charge of our transfers in recent times/seasons.
I don't like scapegoating individuals but if Emenalo is in charge then he's not doing a good enough job as far as I'm concerned and I would rather see a more experienced and qualified football man as our Director of Football/Technical Director. Ideally someone like Guus Hiddink.
Is Emenalo to blame ?

Fack me are there any other group of fans who like to argue amongst each other as much as we Chelsea fans do?
