Is this Christmas period the turning point for United now? We have seen 3 spirited performances that you've shown dominance, composure and quality in all and comfortably won them all, scoring 8, conceding 1 which you didn't deserve to. Stoke, never easy to play against, did really well, excellent away win at Villa and a expected hammering over WHU.
Over this Christmas/New Year period, there are so many points available. Boxing Day, 28th, 1st, 4th and obviously today. 15 points in the space of 2 weeks. I don't expect you, or any team to collect the full points, but what would be a good return? 10-12 points? I'm expecting most top teams to come away with that many points, regardless of whom they have to play. The league is too tight to see any team collect a full 15/15 I think. If they do, congratulate themselves. But it's important for a good return now.
Into 7th now, 8 points of Liverpool (big margin) but only 5 off the top 4 and one of Chelsea and Arsenal must drop points if not, then both. But, at this stage (or after the Christmas period), is a Title Challenge still considered realistic for you? For me, it's optimistic now. But it isn't beyond your reach to still consider yourselves to get 2nd/3rd and if you look at the turn out of the United fans' hopes this season (especially from the start) then I'd say that would be an excellent turn out come the end of the season for me.
Thoughts?

United are 8 points off of the top. We dropped 10 points in the space of four games in matches where we should be at least getting 6 points.
This has been our problem. The odd defeat now and then against teams that are tough teams and the odd shock is forgivable, it's these collapses in a short space of time that is costing us big time and very un-United like.
We aren't responding well to dropping points, something that has always been our strong point.
It's why thinking about the title is pointless at this stage, for me, as it's perfectly feasible that were we to get back in the running we'll lose and then have a slump which sees us miles behind again, such has been the mentality of the team this season.

This is what I mean, pull them 2 games a month back, everyone would expect 6 points from 6 and you'd probably have had that but for some reason, this Christmas hoo-doo may mean that it could be 4 points or maybe even as low as 3! But it shouldn't be any lower than that.

Yeah I get what you mean I think we will win away to Hull but could easily come unstuck two days later at norwich.

Hmm, West Ham and Villa aren't games we should be losing anyway.
We've struggled versus any half decent opposition so lets not get carried away, one game at a time.

It would be daft to completely write off United for the title. True they're 8 points off the top but you because it's so tight at the top you only have to go on a run of form when you win something like 5 out of 6 and you'll be right up there. I think the title is City's but I wouldn't rule United out just yet.

It's City's to lose.

We need to start winning more game against the teams around us as well.
We've only picked up 9 points against the current top 10. 9 points out of a possible 27 is pathetic.

City have averaged 3.5 goals per game over the last 10 in all comps, including a win in Munich. It's all starting to look a bit ominous and I suspect they're going to win the league at a canter to be honest.
The battle for the final 3 CL spots is going to be superb. If Suarez stays fit then Liverpool are back as genuine contenders now too. Definitely see a fun final day, it will be that close.

transfer window will be our turning point this season...

could be an interesting Jan window if it's still this tight
everyone will have the chequebooks out to make that push for the top spots
then PSG & Monaco will take everyone's targets again
