If you take a look at this season the majority of Liverpool fans would still not consider us title contenders and would continue to reiterate that the top 4 is still the target (me included).
It's absolutely crazy that we could be top at Christmas and not be considered title favourites. But I'm happy to go with the flow.
4th is the aim and I would be very pleased with 4th. However I do believe that we will not get a chance as good as this for a while, in terms of teams dropping points and being inconsistent. So, in a way it's a shame that we aren't quite there yet. But I'm enjoying the football.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
What a season?! So far..

Any of the top 8/9 with Suarez in this form would have a chance.
The guy is taking us to a new level.
I don't think it's just him obviously, we have improved as a unit, but the Suarez factor is what is making us title challengers as opposed to just top 4 challengers.
It's still so tight though. We haven't had a bad run yet, just sporadic results. We might not have one, but if we did go three or four without winning we could easily be 6th or 7th and then title talk would go out of the window and people would be worried about top 4.
We have to keep this mentality of when we drop points making sure we bounce back quickly.

Would be great to bring in a top attacking midfielder and a top left back..
Problem being i don't know who i would be happy to bring in to the detriment of Flanagan and Raheems development..
We also have not seen a fit Aspas yet (who was great on the right opening day and pre-season)
If we could add a 10-15 goal a season player to the right hand side though that would probably be us getting on towards challenging when we find out our best back 4/a new left back.

Also have sturridge and gerrard to come back and fit in to the team, its going to be hard for players to get places i the starting 11 this season, but its probably worth increasing our strength-in-depth this season in preparation for europe next year.

I'd rather us be talking about the title from now until the end of the season. If people are talking about us as being in the title race it means we're somewhere near 1st, which will also mean we should be ahead of the teams down in 5th and 6th chasing the top four. Need to keep picking up the points and stay ahead of the chasing pack for as long as possible.

For me it's time for the owners to take a gamble in the Ian transfer market. We are in possibly the best position to attract top players in years and we may not get a better chance. Addition of 2-3 top players next month will get us into the CL IMO which will hopefully repay some or those fees. So over to you FSG,the team is doing their bit, the manager is doing their bit. Great job on Suarez, now let's continue that with a couple of top signings that we couldn't get in the summer.

Players will be looking at Suarez and thinking
'I want to play football with that guy.

CL next season would be great, we need it to keep suarez, what is essential though, is CL for the following season, that's when all the tv money increases dramatically. from that point it's going to be much more difficult to keep up with the top 4, and since man city and Chelsea should have the funds to compete anyway, hopefully it'll be man u that drops back. with their debt repayment requirements and more teams able to compete with them financially, that should screw them up for years :D

damn right I do.
fortunately, I think the longer moyes is there and moulds the team in his image, the more damage it'll do to you anyway. a bit like sounness did with us.
I think your current resurgence in form is more down to the players doing what they're used to instead of what moyes wants them to do. the more players he buys the less effect that'll have.
after all the fuss you fans were making about wanting kagawa to play more, there've been numerous reports of moyes offering him around to other clubs.
he's very good at finding cloggers and fighters (fellaini et al) but I just don't think he's got it in him to manage flair players, it's just not his style, he doesn't know what to do with them.

Being top is pretty irrelevant when 1st-5th could be within 2 points of each other by the end of the day
