I have not a got a clue about how

good or bad Tim Sherwood will become as the new Spurs manager, I don`t suppose any of us have if the truth be told, but some of the nonsense I have read on the boards since his appointment, is the same sort of dross that was being wheeled out when AVB was appointed. What`s it all about? Wy cannot the Spurs supporters just get behind Sherwood and give him a go. He cannot be as bad as some of the names I have heard being mentioned. Laudrup, what on the strength of a few games at Swansea with no pressure, the Southampton boss, cannot even speak English, and they have not won for weeks now, he would have already had his cards had he been at Spurs, an assortment of geriatric foreign bosses that have done the rounds, getting big pay cheque after big pay cheque, with no real feel for the clubs they are currently managing.

As you know I wanted AVB to stay, but he has gone, so we all have to move on, and behind whoever our great chairman Daniel Levy has hired, yes great, back in August, he was being hailed as the new Messiah, for splashing the cash, what`s changed. Spurs have an excellent squad, thanks to Mr Levy putting his money where his mouth is, of good young players, and it will be up to Tim Sherwood to make them gel, like AVB could not.

I am giving Tim Sherwood my 100 per cent backing, who`s with me. All of you hopefully. There is still lot`s to play for this season.

Serious question, can anyone remember a similarly inexperienced manager being a success in the premiership?

Billy Nicholson. No previous managerial experience. Not prem I know, but still top division.

Di-Matteo could probably be classed as inexperienced at the top level and many Chelsea fans still see his tenure as a success.
I doubt any Chelsea fan expected very much in terms of results when he was appointed, but the FA cup win and Champions League results speak for themselves.
Sherwood may surprise everybody...........but caretakers are always easy scapegoats. Getting booed at the first bad result might not help

Added to the fact he has not won a prem game for weeks.

Their fixture list since they last won against Hull has been very tough though - Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal away, and Man City, Spurs at home. Only game they ought to have won was Villa at home, and they pretty much outplayed them.

World has changed since then Sandy. Prem demands immediate success. DiMatteo was a good example. I just couldn't think of one. It is a high risk strategy.

Nobody had heard much of Keith Burkinshaw when he took over, and look what happened there.

Give Sherwood a chance, he has a great opportunity to succeed with this squad of players, unlike many of his predecessors who had vastly inferior squads to work with.

Well said Sandy

I for one am excited with the appointment of Sherwood, from what ive heard Chris Ramsey is extremely well thought of in the game too.
Yes Sherwood has no real management experience but every manager had no experience at one point.
Sherwood has impressed me already with his attacking tactics, although some serious training work needs doing on the defensive side of our game.
At least we now have a manager who knows Spurs through and through, the ethics of our club, the backroom staff, the tea lady and the first team squad and youths.
Talking of youth players we have seen two very promising performances from Fredericks and Bentaleb. I predict Veljkovic will be the next kid to shine.

Of course its unknown territory for us at the moment and who knows how it will pan out, but at least it looks like we will have our old spurs back.

I cant wait to see what the future holds.

COYS !!

Not sure if I really want the old Spurs back. Mediocrity springs to mind.....

Here's a fact for you guys...out of all the 16 managers who are currently in the last 16 of the CL, 9 of them started off managing straight at a top club. In other words they weren't all highly successful managers beforehand and have gone onto become top managers. I'm not saying Sherwood will go down this route but we don't have to have a manager who is very experienced to get this lot playing well.

I didn`t know the game of football had changed since the 1870s. Still played to my knowledge with 11 players a side and a ball.
