Suarez release clause

The Mirror are reporting tomorrow that Suarez' exact release clause is £100 million. Now, we know a release clause never has to be met, a club can easily accept anything up to that (£70/80/90 million) etc but how strong a position does it look like we're in here? I know this has been knowledge but the exact figure wasn't known until now.

Really is a fantastic result for the club.

This is the same paper which confidently stated that Suarez was moving to Arsenal. They don't appear to have the inside track with regards Suarez do they!

Personally I'd treat their 'exclusives' with extreme caution.

I can't imagine anyone paying that, but if he achieves good form for the rest of the season (I can't see him keeping up his current for until May) then I'd be looking at the £60-£70 million figure. Still a hell of a good deal in my opinion. I don't take care for what others have gone for.

I honestly don't think Madrid will be in for Suarez this summer. what will that say if they were to break the record only to near exceed it 12 months later. If we get top 4, Suarez will stay one more season before Madrid come in again

That contract could be littered with all sorts of clauses. Maybe even 40m + 1 pound if lfc fail to get top 4. That's unlikely but you never know.

It's best not to focus to much on it and enjoy him until the day comes when he leaves or retires.
