Footballing highlights of 2013

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good Christmas (mine was quite dull in truth, thanks for asking!)

I've got no doubt this will turn into a wumfest between Liverpool, spurs, arsenal and Chelsea - that's inevitable, but as 2013 draws to an end I'd like to know what your footballing highlights of the year have been. Can be great matches, brilliant goals, controversies, awesome performances, whatever. Also it doesn't have to be confined to domestic football. I'll list some of mine then list my fave:


Man city 4-1 man united
Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid
Anderlecht fans standing ovation for Ibra
Wigan beating man city in the FA cup final
Dani alves' nutmeg on ronaldo


But the winner for me is......

Atletico Madrid wining the copa del rey final at the bernabeu vs real 's. It had all gone t!ts up for moanrinho and it had been long since established that he was leaving after a dreadful defence of the la liga title and being outclassed by Dortmund in the champions league, as well as upsetting pretty much the entire dressing room. His one potential saving grace was winning the cup in their own backyard against their rivals.

Atletico hadn't beaten them since 1999 in any competition and were trailing to a ronaldo header. But they stuck at it and grabbed an equaliser after falcao made a mug of raul albiol (playing because Jose had the hump with pepe) and set up Diego Costa. Real Madrid laid siege to atletico's goal and were denied by the woodwork on 3 occasions, a block on the line and a simply incredible save by courtois to deny ozil in extra time. Miranda heads the winner in before all hell breaks loose when ronaldo is sent off. 30,000 atleti fans celebrate the end of the hoodoo and sing "we are the champions" at the home of their bitter rivals while mourinho skulks as way without collecting his losers medal
