I've had my PS4 for nearly 5 weeks now. Last night I left it on standby to let controller charge then couple hours later turned it on but after getting to home screen it shut off. Tried turning it on again but this time instead of blue light on ps4, it was a flashing red light. 10 mins later it's still flashing so try turning it on but it made this over heating sound then there were no lights. Now this morning it still wouldn't turn on.
Think it's components are burnt?

Yeah would've been worse if this occurred this time next year...

My brother had the same problem yesterday but I aren't aware of the outcome as yet.
I'm definitely going for an XB1...

My mate got his a couple of days before Christmas but it wouldn't even start up. Got the blue light of death and Sony are replacing it in a couple of weeks

Diggler I think I'll have to do the same. It's starts when ever it feels like. I knew when I bought it some problems will occur as is the case with launch date products.

Has there been a lot of problems with the PS4?

I don't think it's as bad as the original 360's problems, but it's still pretty bad. Seems like it's at least 5% failure rate out the box
