Rooney > Ozil

in terms of most creative player in the league. Not even close. Ozil is a top player but Rooney is world class.

eh, why cant we compare players who play in different teams?

The Ozil bashing is pretty sad really.
------------------------------------------------------
Not bashing ozil, just stating the simple fact that rooney is better, at least for utd.
Being to overly familiar with rooney means some of our fans fail to appreciate him. In the summer a few of our fans were crying when ozil signed for arsenal. We needed a dominant cm and we were crying about ozil?
Ozil is the crown jewel type player you put on a master piece. Put ozil in madrid/barca/baern environment he would look worldclass. Put him in a team where he has to pickup the slack of others its a different story

While they are both fantastic players, isn't it a little premature to be comparing them? Ozil has been here four months, while Rooney has played here his whole career.

Despite that, their numbers are pretty similar also It's a bit cringey seeing some (not all) United fans preaching how they knew Rooney was better all along.

Would love to see them playing together

Make it happen Arsene

For me the biggest difference between the two is Rooney is a winner, while Ozil great player that he is not and seems to go missing when most needed.

Ozil is a brilliant creator and personally better than Wayne Rooney. They have 2 different roles for their team and most of United's play, well pretty much all of it goes through Rooney.

Ozil can have a bad day and still pull of an assist or two, the problem is now that he has Giroud and Bendtner finishing off the chances he had, instead of Ronaldo. The amount that Giroud missed alone in his last game was genuinely laughable.

Ozil is solely a creator, for him, a goal is almost like a bonus. Although he needs to sharpen up his finishing, he has missed 2 or 3 opportunities you'd expect a player of his ability (and cost! ) to take.

Rooney is more of an all-rounder, he helps dictate the flow of United's game. He creates and scores.

Even as a Utd fan, I think there is some unfair criticism of Ozil. This is still his first season, and he's shown more than enough to suggest he will be a success his at Arsenal. He's going through a quiet spell, but it wasn't so long ago that some on here were questioning Rooney's ability and wanting rid of him.

A lot of pundits rave about Rooney playing in the deeper role, but he still gets caught out at times, and I'm still not sure he can hack it there against the very best. It is more the fact of our own current problems, and that he is playing against a few lesser teams that allows us to use Rooney in a deeper role, but I still prefer to have him up front creating havoc in more offensive areas.

In fact, if we have an Ozil quality player to allow Rooney to play up front, that would be ideal.

Pffft Rooney's is a great player but don't be silly! The lad's first touch is a joke and if you're comparing them as playmakers it's only one way. Wazza gets assists through driving though then laying it off to a team-mate but no way does he have the vision to make the 'eye of a needle' pass!

at the end of the day it comes down to, who would you rather have in your team, if you think Ozil you are confused or re-tarded.

4 MONTHS?
I have watched both players for years. Both are brilliant players but Rooney is better..

Check my post history and u will see I am not a fan of rooney but I have mad respect for what he brings to our team.

I don't mean this with any disrespect, but ozil is the midfield version of berbatov.
