Rene

Just watching Rene Meulensteen interviews and he comes across v well and is well known to be a great coach.

Was he ever considered to become Fergies replacement? I know Fergie and Moyes wanted him to stay

I think Moyes was nailed on as soon as SAF informed the Glazers of his retirement plans. SAF would have made sure of it I think.

Teams managed
Years Team
1990–1993 NEC Nijmegen (youth)
1993–1999 Qatar U18
1999–2000 Al-Ittihad
2000–2001 Al-Sadd
2001–2006 Manchester United (youth)
2005–2006 Manchester United (reserves)
2006–2007 Brøndby
2007–2013 Manchester United (assistant)
2013 Anzhi Makhachkala (assistant)
2013 Anzhi Makhachkala
2013– Fulham

That is his managerial career. He didn't last long at Brondby or Anji. I think he was fired after a short while in both jobs. I think he is probably one of those are better as coaches than as a Manager.

From what I've gathered dave wanted Rene to stay but had a different role in mind so Rene decided to leave.

Wish him all the best at Fulham, hard to know exactly what your coaches get up too but always heard good things.
