It was a tragic day fot tennis IMO.

Federer played well, showed his full variety of shots.

Yet it wasn't enough to win, because Nadal can run fast.

I've said it before; in the modern game an athlete always beats a tennis player. Today reminded us of that.

Nadal is a little better than tha5 umpteenth - Federer doesn't keep his nerve against Nadal - he always has a chance but he just needs composure.

Nadal wins
150 fist pumps to 3.

Sorry to tell you this umpteenth but tennis players are athletes. Being able to run fast is just one asset that Nadal has in his locker that makes him the supreme tennis player/athlete that he is. If it was all about running fast then Walcott would be a really great footballer. As we saw yesterday, he isn't.

Of course he misses shots; that's because he knows the athlete can run them all down.

I wish their was more to Nadals game. All it was was run and topspin. He doesn't have anything else.

But in todays game, that's what wins.

Federer is a phenominal tennis player and a good athlete.

Nadal is a good tennis player and a phenominal athlete.

I understand Athletes have always been dominanrt on clay. But it now applies to all other surfaces as well.

Federer never believed that he could beat Nadal today. I think he was just happy to lose in a close fight.

I don't see how the 2 things are exclusive. They both play tennis ergo they are both phenomenal tennis players, but because Nadal has more athleticism and power he has the edge over Fed.

Rafa more likely to beat Roger at Wimbledon IMO, but Djoko is still there, and Rafa's not comfortable with him. If Rafa doesn't meet Djoko he'll prob win Wimbledon - if they meet though it's 50-50.
